Now Joey Barton is going to be available on a free, will we expect to see him at 1p5wich Clown?

He certainly fits the bill as an aggressive thug and will fit in well with Bowyer, however the fact he is young and talented may well mean he doesn't appeal to Pyjama Man's transfer policy.

    Your thoughts?

Yes CS, would certainly fit in as an agressive thug like Bowyer and.... er.... um.... all those thugs we have at the club.

Anyway, can't stand that dick Barton.

The point is, Guru, he was convicted after his career with us was at an end! Not the same thing at all as employing a convicted criminal!

    Never mind, son, keep trying

To be honest, Barton was a thug, he has clearly grown up and got it under control. I don't think it's as bad as more sinister crimes, not as bad as what Bowyer has done, so on that basis if we can find £70k a week down the back of the sofa then sign 'im up!

Barton, Bowyer and Chopra - oh dear god. The legal fee's alone would bankrupt your club!

The incident with Bowyer happened over 10 years ago when he was basically still a kid! Jeez why can't you lot just let it rest <yikes> Everyone is entitled to a second chance and everyone makes mistakes.

I suppose hanging and flogging is too good for 'em!

You're right, Hampy, he has cleaned his act up no end, but still had that foolish streak when called up for England, plus there is a worry of problems in the family with his cousin's murder conviction.

It's a damn shame really, there is no doubting his football talent!

I dont really see what his family has to do with it. We know Barton's never going to be an angel but I've been impressed the last few years that he's got a grip of himself.

All I'm saying with Bowyer is that if he's OK then Barton certainly is.

Personally I think that's the type of player that should be at Leeds and not at Ipswich.

Can we concentrate on football rather than criminal records or would you like to see the head line
' Towns new signing Mother Theresa to start up front with Chopra '

I think you'll find Barton will be off to Spurs....

    Cracking player, weird attitude.

In all honesty, if we did get Barton ( we won't ) him and Bowyer would run the midfield against any side in the league.

While I'm on here actually, Barton et el are conundrums to say the least for a football manager.

I read Bobby Robson's autobiography, Romario is the only out of control player he's managed. Romario would turn up when he pleased etc go clubbing do whatever, yet Robson would always pick him because of his goal record. 109 games 98 goals....speaks volumes.

Weirdly, lots of great athletes etc have / have had personal issues.

    -Prince Naseem
    -Shane Warn
    -Ronaldinho
    -Edmundo

Bowyer had an incident 10 years ago or so and was acquitted. That says something. Feel free to create as many pathetic articles as you wish really.

Lets face facts though. Bowyer + Barton would both get into your midfield all day long.

I don't think Peter Sutcliffe has murdered anyone for a while...

The fact of the matter is that it's Bowyer's beliefs and motivation for doing what he did that I have a problem with. But clearly if you couldn't get your head around that last time you won't this time either.

And in any case - Bowyer and Barton still wouldn't be the best central midfield, that will unquestionably be Nolan and Parker this season.

As i've tried to explain to you before i think that sometimes people make poor decisions in their youth that should not follow them around for the rest of time, Bowyer was convicted of Affray in 1996 no convictions since so i'm am convinced he has grown up alot in the 15 years since the charge was brought against him.

I'm surprised your not calling for Barton to be shot as i've just looked at his record.
