His latest twitter quote..."All time low.........2 ways out. 1.Work hard 2.Worker harder". Not starting today then?
I would rather have a back on form Barton than trying to chase him out of the club like some of the boo boys would have. It hasn't happened for Barton thus far with us, but he is a quality player so we should all try and back him to come good. Hopefully he got a wake up call the other night and "works harder" to try and find his form again. If he felt the love from the fans like he did at Newcastle then we would benefit no end, but alas some morons think slagging him off will help.
Agreed but unfortunately we are not in a position now where we can carry anyone. And JB has not had a good game for weeks. So maybe we need to pick 11 players who look more likely to deliver today.
I would personally want to see Barton start today. What we have all seen since the other night is that he does care about the club, and he is just as hard on himself as what us fans are. We now all know his ego has been dented; what player would be happy about their team winning after you going off? He certainly won't be. I for one, would like him to show us how good he is and how the team can win with him playing, and I think there's no better way to start than today in what could be seen as a winnable game.
If that's the case, respect to Mark Hughes. Hopefully it'll shake Joey into action for the rest of the season.
Barton has never been on form for us, its not just a bad patch hes going through. He is a flat out awful player and we are better off without him. Good news that hes dropped, I just hope people dont use that to say we need him if we lose this game.
I wish we could all put this to bed now, so many threads on it and two camps that wont agree. Which ever side you sit surely the facts are simple - 1. If you didn't like him and booed you have what you want he has been dropped. 2. If you did like him and supported he has been dropped so we can't change it. 3. He has accepted he was poor and has hit a low and will work hard to improve. 4. He will undoubtedly appear at some point if not today then later. 5. Having accepted the position we should all support a return and see if he can get back to the player he was. We need to be united to the end. TF on MOTD sounded really positive talking of team morale and apperaed genuine. We need to see that grow for a chance of survival.
I just find it annoying that we are in a situation where a faction is turning against the club captain when we are in such a dire situation. The only way we are gonna get out of our predicament is if we all, fans and players, are pulling together. If we lose today who will the boo-boys turn on next? It's not the way forward...

Plus which thread are we using for during match agony? This one or the Sunderland one? Or using the one on the Sunderland board. I like the Mackems, good lads. For some reason cross board threads are banned at the minute. Shame, I liked them on match days - except Norwich, of course. Yellow and green flying vermin.
I agree right up to the last bit. If it turns out we're even worse without him then we might have to bring him back in! I doubt we will though.
We could play a lot better and lose but that doesnt mean he should be bought back or the decision to drop him cost us. It wouldnt surprise me to see him if we are losing with 20 mins to go. Hughes might think the kick up the backside is exactly what he needs.
