Does anyone else think with both these two at our club reputation will always go before them? (not that i would trade them for anyone) I just get the feeling that refs already have thier minds made up about both of them before the game starts. Stephans Warnocks tackle on Barton yesterday was terrible¬!
Neither are shrinking violets! Barton is Warnock's general on the pitch and there are leaders through the team, the ten men grabbed a point yesterday, time was we would've crumbled after the penalty and shipped two or three more.
Warnock has changed his way and has been nothing but diplomatic since he arrived at Rangers, I was almost cringing when it came to Watching his post match interview yesterday, I was convinced it was going to end up in a fine and ban from the FA. But while he said what he felt regarding the decisions, he was also fair and respected the referee. In the past he'd still have been moaning. As for Barton, that might take a little longer to sort out, but I'm sure Joey is also on the right path and he knows he must change. But he is playing football and other players know what he is like, so he'll always get someone trying to get a reaction out of him. Let's give it time and see how things work out, there will be a few wrinkles along the way but so far everything seems to iron itself out. So Warnock and Barton are changing and I'm sure in time people's perceptions of them will too, but people have long memories so it might take a bit of time.
