Makes sense as to why Dyer has left now. Hope he gets game time as his pace is whats needed as cover for Montero/Ayew.

So, we let Dyer go, with a no recall as he's gone to a prem club, then within a week we recall Barrow.

I'm happy to see Barrow return as the academy is the way forward for us but, my concern is, this is a signal that Monteros' strain is more of a concern than originally suspected.

Routledge is not winger, he is a midfielder who plays out wide and isn't true cover for Montero. Barrow has electric pace, apparently one of the fastest in the squad, so can cover wing, hence his recall.

Regardless, I'm glad he's back and I hope he gets the TLC, game time and confidence he needs to be a regular for us, I think he's good enough just lacks that edge of experience, same as Gorre.

Happy he's back and I hope my cynical view about Montero is completely wrong.

Montero will be returning from a long journey after being a squad member and they play Honduras today , so maybe he won't be ready for a game on Saturday although he's down of their official site as being injured ?

So why let Dyer go in the first place? The club is basically saying Barrow is better than Dyer.

    Thought as much Matt.

Hopefully Barrows' return will take the pressure off as it offers Monk an alternative with options. Hopefully Montero can have the time he needs, which may be up to six weeks, to recover, strains are a bitch to get rid of if they ever go fully at all.

On current form he may well be.

There is the view too that Dyer asked for the move because he is so far down the list here. Strange to move Leicester though because, imo, I don't see him staring there either.

Why keep an unhappy player , which with all the media quotes recently about working his way back into the side both he and the Club backed themselves into a corner .Monk wouldn't guarantee playing time and Dyer would accept it ?

I think part of it could be a wage thing, can imagine Dyers on alot more than Barrow for someone who isn't starting.

We'll happily subsidize your wage budget <ok>

Wow I'm on a roll. Predicted this when I heard the news about Dyer. I just couldn't see Monk leaving us short, and besides I like Barrow. In his limited time on the pitch with us he's done very well and I see him as a very raw Montero. He has the makings of a very decent player, will provide chances for others and I really hope he gets some game time. Good move getting him back.

Fully agree. When can now have Montero batter defences with his pace for 70mins and then bring on Barrow to finish off what's left of defenders.
Dyer is on the way down I think, Barrow is the future and needs to be here imo to learn off Montero and Ayew.
Plus we also have Emnes who could play out wide if needed.

Barrow had a hand in both wins over Arsenal last year, so glad he is back.
