They have only lost 3 all season BUT have drawn 7 and won 10, so have we won 10 and only drawn 1 but the 9 losses make the 6-point difference. Took a lot from the Charlton game, thought we are now looking a different side and at last scoring. They took a rare defeat weekend away to another Kent side in the FA Cup, Maidstone, who are starting to look very competitive. Hopefully, we travel well and continue some of our strong form and the changes the new Gaffer is making. Looking forward to Saterday
Horribly long journey up to Barrow for the side so I hope they've already set out to make it. Barrow have the best defensive record in the league this season having only conceded 16. We of course are the lowest goal scorers in the league with 19 (less than a goal per game ratio) and we've been pretty bad away recently. So of course I'm predicting a Gills win because giddy optimism overrides logic. Wheelbarrow 0-2 Gillingham (Bonne & Dieng)
I'd love a win, just to show we are back on track for our play-off push... 3-3 (Bonne, Diang, Lapslie) I've steered clear of J Williams because I don't know what our injury situation is?
Jonny took a blow to the face against Charlton and he was substituted off because the physios were unable to stop the bleeding from Williams' mouth pitchside. He shared a photo after the game that he was ok so hopefully he will be fine to play at the weekend, albeit with a fat lip.
This is a tough game to call Barrow are unbeaten in 10 league games and have won their last 5 which makes Maidstone, s win last week even more impressive. We were very good against Charlton last week but since Swindon our away form has been poor. Barrow 0 Gills 1 (Hawkins from the bench)
Oh dear. Just been called off. Could b a good thing though as he might have new signings when rearranged
There's not that much wrong with the current squad as shown in the cup games against Southampton & Charlton this season. Its developing a consistency and ability to actually attack has been the issue which was more mentality rather than ability.
With the game today postponed, this thread is null and void. A new thread will be uploaded for the rearranged game at the appropriate time.
