Barnsley midfielder Jim O'Brien is expected to return after illness.
But striker Marcus Pedersen misses out after sustaining a knock for Norway Under-23s in midweek.
A pelvic problem forced Eric Lichaj off against Wigan last weekend and the Forest full-back looks likely to miss the next month.
He joins fellow defenders Kelvin Wilson (back) and Jack Hobbs (ankle) and midfielders Andy Reid (hernia) and Henri Lansbury (back) on the sidelines.
