A story from Tommy Banner, told many times.

Adge Cutler was looking for a another member for his band.

Some one mentioned that a guy in Edinburgh was looking for a group to join

So Tommy Banner agreed to meet Adge, some where between Bristol and Edinburgh

The place agreed was Barnsley railway station.

Tommy said how will I reconise Adge, don't worry you'll reconise Adge.

So they met at Barnsley rail station and Adge gave Tommy a contract straight away.

Hand written on an A4 sheet of paper.

Whether true or not,its still a good story.

Or ask Tommy yourself when you may meet him in the future

From my knowledge I believe Tommy is the oldest surviving Wurzel from the earliest days. He was around long before Pete Budd.

My actual memory of Adge was that was knocking about with a mate who said wannna come and meet my Dad.

    Sure,says I.

I think it was one of the big houses in Tyndall Park Road.

By the way, said my mate,my Dad is Adge Cutler.

My mate was the stepson of Adge,I went into the house and in one room was all these musical instruments.

After a little while Adge came back to the house.

Can you imagine what that was like to see your hero when I was still very youing
