Stockdale was an unused sub in Fulham's 3rd round match. Does that mean he is cup tied for Saturday or does he actually have to have played for that to be in effect?

Suppose depends on what deal Fulham have done with us, can he be recalled this Season? if not he might as well play...

If they had anything about them, Im sure Fulham will of made him cup tied, should they need him..

IMO Oxley should start. Jako has had his chance, obviously Bruce doesnt rate, him so why waste more game time on him. Let the young lad have a decent run out.

I just hope Bruce continues using the fringe players should we reach the latter stages. Afterall, they will be the ones who have got us there.

    Oxley is cuptied.

Back on the OP and Stockdale - I think being named as sub cup ties them but not 100%.

Shouldn't be cup tied. You have to actually play.

Might be able to help here. The player eligibilty criteria for the FA Trophy - I'm involved with a club that plays in the competition - is as follows (I would assume the same for the FA Cup):

A substitute who does not play in a match is entitled to play for another Club in the Competition in the same Season. Clubs must ensure that players are not under FA or County FA Suspension. Clubs are strongly urged to check suspension details with The FA Disciplinary Department and/or the County Association. Please double check recently registered players that might have already played in the Competition this season with other Clubs.

You see, that seems wrong to me. The PFA successfully fought for unused players on subs benches to pick up win bonuses for games and in the next breath we're hearing that they dont count as being used when it suits them.

Stockdale was on the bench for the replay but he started the first match so he is cup-tied

Oxley played for Burton Albion in the FA Cup earlier this season, so he can't feature again. It will probably be Stockdale, as it's another game to get him settled into the swing of things and it's a game against another Championship side.

EDIT: Just checked it out and Stockdale played against Blackpool for Fulham in the FA Cup, so it'll be Jakupovic.

whoops, I missed that when I checked on whether he played (only saw the team for the replay). So Stockdale is cup tied, Oxley is cup tied.

I guess Wacko Jacko is back(o) with Crackers Cracknell on the bench.

Stockdale is cup-tied as he played against Blackpool @ Craven Cottage. Jakupovic will be back in goal saturday.

Cracknell has never let anyone down playing for the Reserves or Juniors. His time will come good before you know it. Deserves a chance but maybe this season is too early

With news that Robbie Brady - Paul McShane and David Meyler have all been selected for the latest ROI squad that should mean that any FAC replay @ Barnsley will mean the cancellation of the Derby County game re-schedules for 12th Feb. ?

What's the old saying,"if their good enough, they're old enough." At some point these kids have to be given an opportunity. I really don't know why some are even given squad numbers when most people know they aren't going to make it, however I remember back when TD was in charge we had a lot of kids come through who went on to make a good few appearances, this of course was when we were not doing well & were financially crippled so had little other options. To me the whole youth set up hasn't really progressed to any sort of level it should have done after 20 years.
