Anyone know if you can buy tickets on the night? Doesn't say either way on City's website. :emoticon-0112-wonde

    No idea I'm afraid.

I can't believe the pricing of away games, £25 for a team like Forest but £30 for a team like Barnsley.
Are we the only team that offers the 16-22 price band to away supporters? A mate of mine is a West Ham fan and is paying £14 for an away ticket because we, unlike Forest or Barnsley, offer good prices to students.

I know - the reason I have not bought a ticket so far is because of the price. My ticket for The Emirates in the first season in the Prem was only £33. No comparison is there!

Going to Forest, but I am not forking out £30 to go to Barnsley three days later. Don't these clubs know there is a recession on.
I am refusing to pay more than £26 for my away day tickets...I suggest a few more do the same and tell the Barnsley's of this world that they are out of order. Hit them in the sky-rocket and they might have a change of policy.
City should charge them exactly the same and lets see how many of their lot would turn up at the KC. Very few.

I'm almost certain it will be pay on the gate, it's a big away end and there's a lot that won't go on principal, due to the pricing.

the way ticket sales are going for this game You may get butler service when you arrive. there is no issue with paying on the night for this game. oh yes whats the saying ? ""what time is ko - answer...what time can you get here""
i know many who are not going due to the rip-off ticket price.

i myself will just add programme and skimp on the beer and pie. (will take my own) swings and roundabouts. at least the travel costs are cheap for this away day. one full tank of diesel will do for both forest and barnsley dvd by 4 people.

i always have a £35 per away game budget for match ticket - programme - reftreshments.

it is expensive, but is it really worth cutting your nose off to spite your face over 3 or 4 quid? ...power to the people and all that but id rather just pay it and be there then stay at home and watch holby city. especially as french tickler says, travel costs are minimum.

    ^^ This ^^

Also, the team counts on supporters to be their 12th man. Being roared on by your own supporters can help lift the players. If everyone stays away that could be counter-productive to our own team

I think we'll still take a couple of thousand, people like a moan(and the price is a piss take), but in reality it's not enough to stop most from turning up.

i bet a win @ Forest and the floaters will be rushing to get there tickets. Many may also just decide to go on the day.
Barnsley is less than an hour away. But we warned. Get there early as parking is a big hassle after 6.30pm.

There'll be a tipping point where you can make more money out of less people for a higher price, but in general do prices have much impact on attendances?

When our new chairman took over, one vision was a bigger stadium so he could charge a lower price, but is their any evidence to show this works in football? I think Bradford tried something and failed, Norwich reduced prices for kids passes when they dropped down the leagues and seem to reaping the reward now.

I notice a rugby season pass is almost the same price as a kids football pass and the kids passes are almost free, but it doesn't go anywhere near getting people in to the ground in any numbers.

Didn't the monkey hangers offer reduced prices for season tickets? Their home crowds seem to have increased by nearly 50%

They have increased attendances substantially on last season(up 60% to 5500) by having £100 season tickets, but last season was their worst attendances for over a decade, they're not actually getting any more than they were six or seven years ago, when they were a league lower and charging the same as everyone else.

There's very little evidence that cheaper tickets generate higher attendances in the long term, though when Man City moved from Maine Road, they kept very low ticket prices to make sure they filled the new place and they did manage to increase attendances by 50% and maintain them(though more recently, other factors have obviously helped to keep those numbers high).

Cheers, you've done far more research than me <ok>

I agree though, there are far too many variables to be considered in respect of football attendances, price is just one of those

Just returned from ticket office £85 for four tickets to Barnsley FFS, BUT as the preceeding poster said just don't spend in the ground, no pint, no pie and your quits, plus the parking is cheap! £2 just over the bridge coming in from Ackworth / Upton. Anyway paying on the gate tomorrow!

Barnsley Fc have kindly emailed me to say that you can pay cash on the turnstiles for adults, OAPs and under 18. However tickets for students and U12s must be purchased in advance from the KC. Presume there is some sort of extra discount for these. There was no mention of being able to pay by credit card or anything but you may be able to do this at the ticket office - if it's open for away fans.

    See you all there!!!!!
