    2-0 game over.
    Tempted to say season over...

    Season over.
    I gave in to temptation.

Tempted to say Ben Garner is trying to get sacked so he'll be paid off.
Can't be arsed to type that again though.

    Garner you're useless.
    Worse than Adkins.

    3-0

Thrown the towel in I suppose.
What happened to all the talk about attractive attacking football?
What happened to the team that beat Plymouth 5-1?

    Garner you're a disgrace.
No balls when you're up against it.
    No character, just whining excuses.
F**k off back to League Two - but don't drag us down with you.

    3-1 Jack Payne.

Signs of life. Too little, too late of course.

Not sure I entirely blame Garner he can only work with what he was given - and that was fuke all money in the transfer window

The following is a copy of the reply I posted on Dick Plumb's forum.
Dick holds Sandgaard wholly responsible and believes Garner is blameless.
This might sound a bit harsh but it's not a pop at you Smudge.
I's not a pop at Dick either. It's just how I feel...

Yes, Sandgaard has the final say on transfers.
And Garner did not get the striker he wanted.

    Well tough titty.
We don't always get everything we want in life.

But what did Ben Garner do - roll up his sleeves and concentrate on getting the best out of the squad he ended up with?
A squad that had already earned 9 points from its first 6 games and was sitting 8th in the league.

    No.
Charlton lost match 7 and Garner came out and said a top 6 finish would be an over-achievement.
    He waved the white flag.
Miffed that he's been short-changed by the Club's owner.
Like that never happened to any other new manager.
Do they all spit their dummies out and surrender two days after the transfer window closes?
Not the ones with any character.

Plenty of capable gaffers get by on less than Ben Garner has at his disposal this season.
He may not have an ideal squad.
But he has nothing in his locker.

Four points from our last six games.
    Relegation form.
And a manager who just wants to feel sorry for himself.
Well I've had enough of his whining and miserable mumblings.

If Ben Garner can't stand the heat he should be man enough to walk away from the kitchen. Not wait for TS to sack him for a pay-off.
He has no backbone, and no plan to get anything out of this squad - just because he has the arse.
    Well f**king diddums.

We need a man for our manager. Not a mewling baby.

Our defenders are just awful. We'd be better bringing Pearce back into the team, and our shooting would do credit to Jonny Wilkinson. We're shopping at Poundsave, and I'm not sure how much you canblame Garner for our failings. That's just from watching the "Highlights". Passing it round nicely counts for little if you've got no cutting edge and a porous defence.

I too am sick and tired of seeing Charlton had 60% possession, and knowing nearly all of that was defenders passing to each other.

But it's Ben Garner who tells the players to do that, not Thomas Sandgaard.
I'm sorry Garner has been short changed, or lied to.
If he has a problem with that which he cannot move on from, he should walk away from CAFC.

But Garner has shown no resolve at all.
No willingness to dig in and do the best he can with the squad he has - which (despite a missing striker) is NOT a relegation squad.
His resentment of Sandgaard (right or wrong) means more to him than giving 100% to his job.
Nobody who won't give his best should be working for Charlton Athletic.

BG has been around for about 10 minutes, and has done nothing for this Club.
There's no way I would cut him anything like the slack that Chris Powell, Lee Bowyer or Johnnie Jackson deserved.

THere seems to be a malaise within the club, and whoever our manager is, the position is a poison chalice. There seems to be a toxic atmosphere at The Valley now. I'd say there is too much micromanagement by the Sandgaards, who are floundering in a field they know little about.

    Spot on.

Thomas Sandgaard must step back and employ good football people in key positions and let them run the Club, or he will never succeed.
But he seems deaf to all reason on this matter.
It took the melt-down 2015-16 season to persuade Roland to change his clueless approach (at least to some degree).
Will it take a relegation to League Two this season in order for TS to see the light?
We may well find out, the way things are going.

There’s no chance of relegation, this division is full of absolute tripe. We actually played fairly well yesterday, calling for garners head already is ridiculous.

    I hope you're right.

But we're dropping like a stone down the league.
And that started the day after the transfer window closed. Two points from the four matches since 1st September.
If top 6 would be an over-achievement according to BG (his own words) where does he think we should finish?

This is our second worst start ever to a 3rd Division campaign.

3 points off the drop, 6 points off the play-offs, no reason for complacency. We are not a happy club.

Okay, I admit - I was going to pay to watch the Barnsley game, but decided it would be more fun to play golf in the autumn sunshine and follow the updates, and had a better day than if I'd opted for the sofa and the football.
By all accounts we are playing relatively well, but as we all knew when the transfer window slammed shut, we have managed to avoid a positiion we crucially needed filling since we offloaded washington (and let's be honest, he wasn't everyones cup of tea). I'm keeping away from the forum's right now - there is just too much pointless anger. Loads of people yelling at Sandgaard to sell up but a complete absence of buyers wanting a tier 3 club with no assets (though I imagine there will be a few Southall types who might see the chance to empty a bank account or two). I've done what I think of Sandgaard too - he's gone straight down the Duchatalet route offloading knowlege as he thinks he knows it all. And any saving on the playing staff will be balanced by a drop in attendances and less income, so it really dones't work. Owning a club like Charlton isn't as easy peasy as he might have thought. October arrives this week, and there is still time to turn things around. But he needs to understand that for himself and act - he needs to appoint a CEO with some decent knowlege of the game. He tried the 'family and friends' route and here we are.

And finally, I don't see what Garner is supposed to do. He has the players he has, and if the squad isn't good enough, it ill take a miracle to mke them into a promtion challenging team. Like Southgate, he will be wantying the fans to get behind the team at the games. But I'm not sure if a lot of the fans understand that jumping on the team's backs will only hurt the players.

We're facing that most annoying of American phrases; a perfect storm.

    Landlord - stripped our assets
Owner - won't appoint experts and won't listen
Manager - spat out dummy four matches ago
Players - adequate for L1 but now not being motivated, and already have an excuse to fail
Fans - most have had enough now after nearly a decade of awful stewardship.

    Oxford are also doing badly.
A win against them next weekend would cheer us up a bit at least.
