Will merge this with any proper thread made, but just some team news for now. -Leitner is out for a month (Hamstring) -Tettey won't train beforehand, but may play (3 games in 7 days might be pushing it though) -Reed is ill, will travel but is a major doubt. -Zimmerman is also a doubt -Oliveira has a calf problem, probably 2 weeks out. -Edwards doesn't have the right attitude off the ball, this isn't the right game to bring him in. -Raggett will travel. DF: "We will find some players who can play this game. There are no gifts but some players will get a chance." We're doomed!
So probably looking at: Gunn Pinto Hanley Klose Lewis Vrancic Tettey Watkins Maddison Hernandez Srbeny ?
I really hope Srbeny starts banging in the goals this season not only for a late play off surge but also for possible inclusion in the German National squad for this year's World Cup. Sorry I thought this was my @RiverEndRick account
Disappointing to hear that about Edwards, I hope Spurs are paying his wages or perhaps we should send him back!
I'm not sure whether to take from that quote that his attitude is poor, or that he's never been asked to contribute defensively to the extent Farke requires, and he's taking time to learn who he should track, defensive positioning, etc. Neither paint the best picture of him, admittedly
The last thing we need is a tired Tettey, injured for the rest of the season or maybe red carded, but either way not very good. Bah!
There was / is an EDP article about Marley Watkins recently where he says "Don't write me off". Well, buddy, tomorrow looks like the chance to put your money where your mouth is! http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwic...s-brutal-assessment-of-debut-season-1-5428471
Ain't that the truth??? He was our worst player by quite some distance on Saturday according to the 'player ratings' on 'Read Norwich!!!'
Sorry JM, but those "Read Norwich" ratings are pure rubbish IMO because they smack of emotionalism. PD gave him a 5 starting at 6, MB gave him a 4 from a starting point of 5. Maybe Watkins didn't "take his chance", but a 2 rating is totally unwarranted.
I'm reading the Edwards quote as an attitude problem rather than a positioning issue. Hope we're not baby-sitting a petulant teenager. Risking Tettey has got disaster written all over it! Could have been an opportunity for Godfrey to sit in the DM role too. I guess we'll see Vrancic but perhaps there's an opportunity for Hoolahan to get a game and balance this defence / attack.
Interesting comment from DF ahead of tonight's visit to Barnsley - “It is important to be flexible. "I don’t think we had a problem at Hull because of our tactical formation. It was more a bad, bad day individually,” he said. That fact was highlighted by the more trustworthy player ratings from PD and MB which were littered with 4s and 5s - something I haven't seen for a while and Zimmerman especially is a big miss. Let's hope for a more cohesive defensive display tonight. http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwic...previews-barnsley-championship-test-1-5431429
Spot on. This should not be the type of modus operandi of a club which freely admits they haven't got two florins to rub together
Agree, CS. WhoScored had him finishing on 6.5 after starting from 6. That was not far behind Hernandez on 6.9 and well above 3 defensive players (Klose 6.0, Pinto 5.6 and Lewis 5.4). These scores are based on actual contributions like key passes, interceptions, etc. rather than one person's gut feelings about players.
