I think Chester are probably one of the weaker teams... didn't they get a reprieve? This one will be close against one of our bogey teams. So let's hope it goes the right way this time.

Yes Chester did but don't worry Barnet have only beaten us twice out of 12 games and we've won 7:wink:

I think Barnet will have the edge over us. Scored 5 away from home, so will have loads of confidence. We can't score for ****, so I think 2-0 defeat is on the cards unfortunately :( hopefully I am completely wrong and we beat them, but it's hard to see a win coming when we look so poor in the final third

2 tough games first up - I think Barnet will be top 4, so anything you get there will be good

The expectation of the Barnet fans will be high after Saturday but they played against 10 man Chester who were reinstated to the league. Game on. Gas to sneak this one as our defence is strong even if our attack needs a boost

There are a few teams who will ship goals - I think Chester are one of them.

This will be a proper contest.

Game on!!

Hate to piss on the fire. But **** me how our standards of expectations have fallen! Predicting a loss to Barnet!

Gas to win 3nil!!
home pressure off White and Matty should do them a world of good, these lads ain't use to playing in front of 7000 fans and it showed when MT went one vs one against the keeper on Saturday. In a more low key match I think he would of chanced it on his left or tried a outside foot shot, both being the better option! Shame he bottled it and went for his favoured right foot on the wrong side.

Manager on tomorrow's game

Darrell Clarke is hoping to see a little bit more quality on the ball when Rovers travel to The Hive to take on Barnet tomorrow night.

But the manager was pleased with the clean sheet his side picked up during the first game of the season.

He said: “It is good to start playing games. I thought Saturday’s performance was a little bit edgy, understandably, but there was a fair bit of promise at the same time and pleasing to get a clean sheet.

“I am looking for better quality on the ball tomorrow.

“We have got a point in the bag and we have to move on to what is going to be another difficult game tomorrow night at Barnet.”

The manager believes that Barnet will be another team challenging at the top end of the table this season.

He said: “They have got a very experienced manager, who has done very well in his footballing career. I think they will be another team that will be up there.

“Martin Allen knows the league very well, and he knows Barnet very well, and I think they will be right amongst it.

“I think they find themselves in a similar situation to ourselves, with a strong 16, but not as much strength in depth as they would probably like.

“It is a very competitive league and we just have to take every game as comes on its merit, there are no easy games.”

And the manager is still looking to bring in a striker and a winger to strengthen his squad.

He said: “I have made a couple of phone calls this morning, and I am in dialogue with the Chairman at the moment.

“There is a striker who can play wide who I put in a loan bid for, I am still waiting on the wide player I have been after for a week or so and there is also another striker that I am attempting to get in.

“I am after a wide man and a striker, and it is moving behind the scenes.

“I think we will have them in by the weekend at the latest, but it is a little bit frustrating that it is taking this time.

“I am happy with the squad at the minute, but I am always looking to strengthen.”

And Rovers have signed goalkeeper Will Puddy on non-contract terms as cover while Kieran Preston is away with Scotland U19s.

Darrell said: “Will Puddy is a goalkeeper I know very well, I managed him for a couple of years at Salisbury, and with Keiran Preston away with the Scotland U19s, it is an opportunity for Will to come in for a week.

“He is looking for a club and I am very pleased he is coming in for a week or two to help me out.”

A look at the home of tomorrow's opponents

Away Capacity: The North Terrace has a capacity of 871 supporters, whilst up to a further 800 seats can be made available in the West Stand.

How to get there: Leave the M1 at Junction 4 and take the A41 towards Edgware. At the first roundabout take the 3rd exit onto the A410 towards Harrow and Stanmore. At the next small roundabout turn left towards Edgware. After passing through a set of traffic lights with the Masons Arms on one corner and then a Peugeot Garage on the left then at the next set of traffic lights turn right into Camrose Avenue. The entrance to the stadium is down this road on the right. There is a large car park at the stadium, with 350 spaces, costing £5 per car. For full directions, clickhere

SatNav: HA8 6AG

Distance: 114.0 miles

Duration: 2 hour 15 minutes

Away Facilities: Bristol Rovers fans will be housed in Blocks F & G of the main West Stand, on the left hand side as you look out over the pitch, and in the North Terrace behind the goal. Away supporters are treated to their own bar within the stadium, behind the Main Stand.

Last visit: This will be Rovers' first visit to The Hive. in August 2012 both clubs shared the points in a 1-1 draw at Underhill.
