I think NA is gonna have to definately add to the strike force this summer as there are no guarantees we're gonna have Barney for most, if not all of next season. If found guilty, the club may wash there hands with him anyway. Connolly though a class player, you still can't rely on his fitness to be a permanent replacement. Does any body know if we have any ready made repacements in the academy, that could step up to the first team and fill Barneys boots and do what Oxo's done last season?
The 'Lee Barnard situation' has been hanging over the club for the months and he was off twice with injuries and we didn't do too bad did we? Now the Easyjet reliability situation has me more worried!
It just shows how low we've sunk as a club when one of our best strikers has to travel Easyjet.! Oh the shame of it all..
At least Barnard was in Barcelona having a bit of culture (lovely place, by the way). I'd have been more worried if he was in Ayia Napa.
Lisbon's great as well..trams, Sintra, Belem...off for 2nd time in July. If you like Barcelona, you'd love Lisbon. Sorry, I digress!
Passing the ladies on those narrow walkways is great. Almost worth a trip to Lisbon just for that alone...... not to mention the wine tasting and of course the port. Some of the hang overs were horrendous. Have you ever had a wine hang over, dreadful.
Port ones just do not seem to want to go away, they tend to hang on for days. At least they did with me. It seemed the more water I drank the more *issed I became. Drinking coffee did nothing for me just made me thirstier. Never go on a live fire exercise with a hang over as I did. Learned not to have too many drinks for at least a week prior, never had a problem again. You live and learn.
Went to Porto this year. White port (don't know if you can get it here) was much lighter than the traditional head-banger variety.
Sam Hoskins has been scoring goals for fun, and Jake Sinclair looks a promising prospect Or we could go for a Championship striker, such as Nathan Tyson (Free) or Shane Long whatever happens with Barnard
I also liked what I saw of Connally towards the end of last season. He is a classy player. Over the years that I have watched Saints, only Le Tissier was essential for us (because we struggled with little money to spend in the Premiership). Other players have come and gone and we've moved onto the next best thing. Hope we have Oxo, Barney and Connolly all available for us this season, but we will have a good team whatever happens.
After about 5/6 large ones I don't think I could have told you what the colour of the liquid was.......or for that matter even if it was port.........
Defo need a striker signing this transfer window? Don't get me wrong, I love Barney and Lambo and I really hope they take the opportunity of playing in the championship by the horns and score for fun, but I'd like a proven goal scorer from the division or higher to join too.
