Nick Barmby at 9 - 1 to succeed David Holdsworth http://www.lincoln.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=309800
Good opportunity for him to really begin. Start low and work your way up. Though I doubt he'll take it.
Not on this occasion, no, I suspect Alan Knill may have been for an interview and run the stripey bastards over.
It was a squirrel, but Knill's a heartless bastard, he doesn't care which variety of furry animal he squishes.
Jesus Christ, another job being linked to St Nick? Despite a very excellent source on here stating he only wanted to manage the mighty Tigers if he was going to manage at all and wouldn't be buggering off to manage anyone else as he has no need of the money? You guys can't leave it can you? Not sure why anyone thinks the Imps hate us, last 2 times I went to see us play them in the league, I went with a mate who supports them and sat in the side stands, was perfectly friendly. Yes this was a long time ago.
They hate Boston United more than they hate us. The Imps fans are usually ok. I wear my vintage city shirt at the gym and they usually want to ask what I think about Steve Bruce or if I think we'll go up etc They usually wish us good luck actually. I get the feeling it might be rather a long time before they see league football again, so there's nothing to get too worked up about. It would be a good job for Nick, I can't seem him taking it though. God knows what the locals would make of Deano... I used to do some bits of media training work with the late Keith Alexander, who of course was the manager at Lincoln - what a great fellow and a credit to the game. A really sad loss!
Graham Drury's there now. Were you thinking of the Scottish tax dodger Steve Evans per chance? He went off to Crawley and I think (not sure without checking) he's at Rotherham now. I happened to be there at Grimsby in 2006 (I think it was) when he was carted away out of the ground by the Humberside Police. He's an absolute disgrace. I remember a mild mannered 'right on' and politically correct academic colleague who's a Pilgrims fan (and active in the supporters club) being absolutely disgusted when the club gave him his job back. This followed the fine and suspended sentence for tax evasion and shenanigans amongst all the other things like attacking opposition players in dug outs etc. Over lunch, my dear colleague belted out 'Evans is f*cking Scottish arsehole from that f*cking dump the Gorbals'... I wish his mother had kept her f*cking legs closed...the c*nt'...yep went down well with my celtic and feminist colleagues that one!
Aha yeah that's who I was thinking of. D'oh of course he went to Crawley. Just remember him when I was at Coningsby. Even the local Boston fans didn't like him much as I recall. Always liked Boston too, fond memories of the Stump. Im still quite stunned at reading swearing and anger from you! I always thought of you as Mr Mild Mannered
Wasn't it Nick Barmby in the Hull Daily Mail that said he only wanted to manage us? He is quoting someone else swearing though.
Ha ha ha ... I am extremely mild mannered! I was just quoting! My (now retired) colleague's outburst will live long in the memory (and for all those at the table). The first time that I went to the ground it was to play rugby union believe it or not. It was a temporary use of the ground for university/college fixture. Many, many moons ago. On the football front, I do hope that Grimsby go up, it's a bit desolate in Lincolnshire for league football. Not that I see much of it over here - I get over to Hull obviously though frustratingly not tonight. Still, I'll be at the KC on the 2nd March and then playing a gig at the National Pub on the evening - perfect day!
