According to the local Blackpool paper Nick Barmby is interested in the job at Blackpool, it's believed that he will be meeting with Oyston (along with a few other candidates) in the next 24 hours, don't think he is favourite for the job but you never know, at least Oyston would not have to pay any compensation.
Barmby doesn't half get some stick for no reason from attention seekers. Say what you will of his managerial stint (which he didn't have to accept) but without him would we still be a club that'd never played in the Premier League? I think so.
I don't think he made that much difference. I'd say his contributions were on a par with somebody like Ryan France, but the fact he's from Hull and pretends to support Hull City deludes people into thinking he was great for us.
Good luck to Nicky in his next venture, shame he hasn't got a role with us coaching the ressies or something was treat a bit harshly
You were probably about ten when he signed for us and haven't a ****ing clue about what contribution he made. I can understand people questioning his ability as a manager, but anyone questioning his commitment to Hull City is either on the wind up, or didn't see most of the games in the eight years he played for us.
He was decent for the first 4 years but went downhill after that. Can't question his desire but his legs had gone and half the time he ran around like a blue arsed fly and dived into tackles which got some people excited. It's nonsense for anyone to say he came back out of devotion to the club. Fact is we were the only one that wanted him whilst he was benchwarming. That said, good luck to him
Pretty much how I see him, his "angry little man" routine did nothing for me. Some decent performances here and there, but for the most part he was average at best and I'm more than confident we'd have been promoted without him. There was only his first season where he was a regular member of the first team anyway. After that he averaged about 20-25 games a season, and half of them were off the bench.
