Good on Jose - Sitting Courtois for Cech. After all letting 5 goals against that Spuds team is not convincing.
But if Jose had sat Cahill during that game for Zouma - we wouldn't have let 5 goals.Better late than never.

Need to thump the barcode at the bridge.

what a chance 3 on 1 and Costa tries to pass it back rather than leathering it.
entire team is sleep walking. Zouma hasn't got a one tackle right yet. At this rate we will be lucky to get even a point.

    First half report card

Cech - kept us in the game.

    Others -

Ivan - All the touches are horrible
Dave - Made remy look like Messi
Oscar- Having mare - but for the goal
WIllian - No thinking but for that goal
    Eden, Fab - invisible,
    Matic - tired
JT - Siss, Remy ghost past JT as if he isn't there.
Costa - was doing his best Nando impression - going wide unnecessary, passing when shooting is easier
Zouma - haven't put in one tackle

A bit harsh but a lack lustre 1st half, Dave was injured but this could have been avoided if we had pushed up our back line more. Costa was our best player, chased, pressed when not in possession. You won't find another CF who works as hard anywhere in the premier league.

2nd half was better and when we did all the things we should have done in that first half they had no answers and we ran out easy winners in the end. Nice touch by Jose benching Courtois & Cahill proving a point that you are only as good as your last game.

Courtois was injured, he said before the game he's thumb is still not 100% on his fb page which is why he wasn't going to play unless in an emergency

Dreadful display but got the 3 points and a 2 point lead over City. Can't understand how almost the entire team can go AWOL on the same day. Costa, Matic and Willian put in the effort, the rest were sleepwalking and Terry was shredded 3 or 4 times which is a worry .Don't understand criticism aimed at Zouma, the kid was fine, but under instructions not to cross the half way line.
Can't stand the sideways , backwards , slowmotion play, we need to be far more direct. At one stage it looked like we had 8 Mikels on the field. Please apply large boot to several backsides Jose, and start looking for a Fabregas back up, he's not worth 2 bob at the moment, and when he's lousy the whole team shuts down. Let's hope it was just "one of those days", though Spurs suggests otherwise.

Have to agree CP. We are playing like a team which is trying to reinvent itself. Last 2 league games very unconvincing. JT was like invisible most of the match. Siss & Remy just sidestepped JT as if he was non existent. I could see why Zouma was not committing for the tackles in the first half.

Hope Jose bent only one of Thibaut's fingers and not lot.
Kid should come out strong - if and when Jose starts him.

Bit of a worry Stan, we are going so poorly all of a sudden after looking quids in the first 4 months. Let's hope we can go back to early season form as quickly as we lost it. One bright point, we ARE winning and still on top. There's definitely some fight there, just a lack of flair the last month, or to be more accurate, too much poncing about and not enough go forward.

First half was one of our worst displays ever. Second half was a bit better. We're not that confident at the moment but we'll come good again, I'm sure. COYB.

Bit harsh on Cahill imo. He's done ok up to the spuds game. Needs the rest though.

He was lucky up until the Spuds game. He was caught quite few times before that game. But was not punished by goals.
When that gawd awful spuds team put 5 past - that will be anyone's end.

Its simply impossible for any team to go the whole season without dips in form and results. We were never going to keep up that early season form in the same way City were never going to be as bad as they were in the Autumn.

We have too many good players and too good a manager not to hit good form again sooner rather than later.

This is the way I am thinking.
A slump cannot last that long when the manager and the players are of such a high quality.
The fact that we have gone through this slump AND are still 2 points clear AND have easier fixtures to come, is what is giving me hope.

Win the next two and we are 5 clear regardless. Now that's an incentive and one I am sure Jose will be hammering into the players.
