He has been recognised as an Unsung Club Hero by the Club, and Premier League title sponsors Barclays. Tom has been working on the turnstiles at Craven Cottage for almost 50 years and was nominated for the Barclays Merit Award by Fulham for his selfless dedication. Fabrice Muamba, who launched the Barclays Merit Award earlier this season as part of Barclays' Thank You campaign, was at the stadium to present him with the award on Tuesday 22nd April. Speaking about the award, Tom said: âI was overwhelmed when I found out I had won the Barclays Merit Award, I didnât event know that I had been nominated. Iâm extremely thankful to the Club, my team and the fans â they make coming to work a joy.â One of the first to arrive every matchday, Tom will work every fixture at Craven Cottage including youth and development squad matches, come rain or shine. Tom started work in the turnstiles at Fulham with his father, a life-long fan, and has since worked at over 1,500 home fixturesâ
