So there we have it. We can move on from these two. Cody... No surprises there. Too good for us. Gave us a great season and for that we only be grateful. Wish him all the best. Barch... Head says not surprised. Heart says gutted. Another one who has given his all for the club in the time he's been there. Probably behind Jacko was Stimson's best signing (Not much competition after that!) Wish him all the best too ... Just don't go to Charlton!! Let's see who we can get in, will be hard to replace them! UTG!!!
i thought cody would of stay with you in the local paper a month ago he said he wanted to stay at gillingham maybe a championship teams wants him.good luck next season.
Cody was never going to stay once we failed to go up. I think we will struggle this season unless we get some prem youngsters on loan as we have no money even with the extra cash from Norwich going up. We should have good enough youth players to step up or the youth coaches and scouts are not doing there job well enough. We are the only pro team in Kent so we should be able to find at least 4 or 5 in the squard every week.
from what cody has supposedly said it was out of his hands (or something like that), so sounds like we came in with an offer and but someone else offered more and norwich accepted that. all i can say is if (big if) he falls down the pecking order at whatever club he ends up with, same with barcham, we would prob be first choice for both players for a loan spell. big shame on both of them but what can you do
So sad that we are losing some key players, Like Barcham, he is such a good player and I am sad to see him go.
Hopefully Hess will give Luke Rooney a fair shot at first team football now on one of the wings but of course we do need someone further to come in and fill Barcham's shoes. Musn't be forgotten he scored some important goals to keep the good run of form going despite the injuries. On another note, young Ashley Miller will be in and around the first team much more next season after leaving school. We can only hope he lives up to the early hype and become a star in the making.
Barcham, yeah...sad to see him go. He provides the one morsal (sp.?) of pace that we seem to have in our midfield. But that's on his day. When he fails to get into the game, he wanders and we won't see him for 20/30 mins. Always looked likely to want to try and better himself at a higher level...just be interesting to see where he goes.
think that’s a bit unfair, he may have gone missing a bit but often he was screaming for the ball and moving around but cos we seemed determined to play hoof ball football he never saw enough of the ball. the amount of times i saw him wide open on the wing and the ball wouldn’t arrived prompting a angry jumping pirouette, when fit and in form he scared the crap out of apposing full backs.
