Thought I'd start a special thread for this one as we all love Barca and their style,of play... not had chance to look at the odds but I fancy a man sent off early doors for psg.
PSG are like a French MK Dons which has transformed into another club funded by Middle East billionaires from that wonderful future host of the world cup, Qatar.
Will they get a fine for all the Catalonia flags? more of a political display than a poppy on players shirts.
Seeing as they are in Catalonia I doubt it. Would a Yorkshire team be in bother for waving flags with a white rose on?
Usual bs from the commentators "Barcelona are making what is already a big pitch look larger", "They are making it difficult for them to cover across this wide pitch". It is the same size as the pitch at the KCOM. And the Emirates. And every other stadium built over the last decade or so.
That's modern commentary for you - hyperbole heaped on hyperbole; growing up listening to the likes of Kenneth Wolstenholme, John Arlott, 'whispering Ted', CMJ et al made you appreciate the old adage ''less is more''.
Amazing as it is to believe Wolstenholme was criticised in some quarters in the early 1960s as being over excitable. Don't forget Bill McClaren when mentioning great commentators. Or Raymond Glendenning. Peter O'Sullevan. More civilised people from more civilised times. Of course they weren't having to appeal to generations of people with a shorter attention span than a goldfish.
True, Though 1960-1963 my old man though the BBC should be renamed the Tottenham Broadcasting Corporation as they really did revel in a London club being top dogs. Then Burnley were champions. Then Ipswich in their first season in Division 1. Burnley were only 2 games from doing the double one year.Won't see those days again. Everton winning for first time in ages. TWS winning for first time. Wolves champions, for second time time year before Spurs. All in a ten year spell. A lot more interesting than nowadays.
This ****ing bollocks winds me right up... they're the only 1 team capital in Europe (I think) and nobody has ever - ever - criticised Juve for being bankrolled by Fiat for the past 70 years.
