Not heard anything and I very much doubt it's going to happen. He's not good enough to be anywhere near the Barcelona team.
He looked full of potential last season, in flashes. Maybe he's a player who would flourish with better players around him? We're in relegation trouble so it's obvious nobody has played well this season here!
As I said before when he apparently could have gone to Barca before he came to Newcastle, he would play a handful of games for the B team, be released, go to a third division club, get fat, get released, have a few semi-pro games, then retire.
I don't think Perez is suited for this league. His play is too slow. I'd rather have someone like Victor Moses over Perez on the left. As since 2 up top seems to be a thing of the past... I think he'd do better in Spain. But Barcelona? B? Maybe. Townsend is showing how a faster more direct player is far superior to a tricky one in this league.
I think perez is decent with decent potential. Good enough to even be back up at Barca? I very much doubt it. If the money was right I'd probably think yeah. However if as expected we go down he might do well in the Championship. That said we do have young Arma.
I suspect that if a decent bid comes in for him he will be sold. He looks a bit lightweight for the Championship and funds will need to be generated to buy players that will get us back up. He clearly has potential but just doesn't seem to be coming on in leaps and bounds for me.
