... did you read the article buddy? - only posted it because the Press seem to be giving it large over a photo of the lad in a 2013/14 Barca shirt ..

.... my own view is that a combination of wealthier owners in the EPL combined with the maga bucks TV deal from next season heralds a huge shift in footballing economics ... EPL clubs will now have far more say on player movements - only selling if it suits rather than as a need to balance books - will have enormous benefits for football on these shores IMHO ...

undoubtedly (he's the most singularly exciting player in the EPL) .. but read the article ... our bilionaire owners are becoming increasingly richer ...

This is true, there is more money to go round but is it enough long term? I can still see Leicester accepting a large fee if it come in £40M plus.

.. wouldn't rule it out ... but only if the lad really pushes for the move ... no economic reason to sell (especially if we do fulfill the dream od Champions League - which I, and I'm sure most Leicester fans, are not assuming will happen until it is mathematically certain) ...

It says nothing new. It says that possibly Barca have an interest. If indeed that do have an interest, it would be at a maximum price that they would be willing to go to. Above that figure, no interest.

All this assumes that Barca are interested - They may well not be. It would be interesting to see Mahrez's reaction if an interest is declared!...

Hmmm you appear to have an inside track ... both Barca and Real are rumoured to be watching Mahrez ... what makes you so sure that Barca are not?

They'd be stupid not to watch Mahrez, i see this as Barca not valuing him as high as we do, so won't meet our valuation rather than them literally not being able to afford it.

Think it would take a Sterling size offer to shift him, no matter where he goes.

I'm not. Just that many, many players get linked with Barca or Real. That doesn't mean that there is any genuine interest,

I've little doubt they've checked him out. Whether there's any real interest or not remains to be seen.

  14. All joking aside from me, I really do hope that the Foxes manage to keep all of their players. I'd like to see them prove themselves again, next season, in the EPL, with the same team.

However, as every Yid knows, it doesn't matter who you are or how well you think you can vouch for a player's loyalty, most of them will let you down given the right interest from certain clubs. No club in the EPL has been safe from this, not even £ity, so "having the money to tell them to fcuk off!" isn't any kind of guarantee that you'll hold on to any of your players, especially if the likes of Barca and Real are interested.

... all true ... but historically we have not been in a position to ever turn down bids for our better players ... we can now ... if any player goes it will be for a price that suits us ... not as a books balancer ...

Who are your owners these days?

They're billionaires are they? Doesn't get much discussion in the press.

  17. You've just described Spurs!

We have never been, nor will we ever be, a selling club. If we have willingly sold a player it's because we no longer want or need him. When whenever we've sold a star (Sherringham, Berbatov, Carrick, Modric, Bale) it's always been due to the player wanting away from the club. With certain players, Levy has made it crystal clear that he's not for sale "at any price."

The problem, of course (and as I am sure you know), is that once a player's head is turned, there is usually no point in trying to change his mind. Levy has learned that, in that situation, the best thing he can do is to engineer a transfer away from our immediate rivals and for as much cash as he can get.

You are a selling club - or at least you have been.

The players you mentioned wanted to leave and were sold.

    = a selling club.

King Power - they dominate the Thai Duty Free shopping market .. there is now a Leicester City FC club shop at Bangkok airport <laugh> ...and, reportedly (and perhaps not surprisingly) we have a rapidly expanding fan base in Thailand and other parts of the Far East ...

    http://kingpower.com/th

... wait for the interior airplane shot ... the owners have seen their personal fortune explode over the last few years and they are now billionaires ... great owners .. quiet, dignified, fly into home games in their helicopter .. don't court the limelight ... bought back the stadium and put it back into club hands ... wrote of debt by converting to equity ... club has never been in a healthier position both on and off the pitch ..
