Got my tickets for next week. My seven year old girl going to her second game ( first away at Spuds last season) and my three year old boy to his first. My five year old girl decided she would rather stay at her grans and play with her barbie doll.

    Where have I gone wrong?

Wait till your lad would rather stay home & play with his Ken, then you'll know you've gone wrong

My two lads (aged 17 and 11) are season ticket holders, and are as Sunderland daft as I am. However, my 10 year old daughter has no interest in football whatsoever, and although I have often tried to get her to go to a game with us, she has always refused..

Get her to watch the AFL from Australia. Girls love'm'boys in their tight skimpy shorts. Bit like the chicks Beach Vollyball for us <laugh>

I think you are all being very, very unfair and maybe a little short sighted.

I am a massive Sunderland fan, indeed a season ticket holder, however, it does not stop me enjoying an evening in with my Barbie doll, I call mine Jacqueline and she takes some blowing up. It is however worth the effort and she is a lot less trouble than either of my 2 wives, could I **** get them to go back in their box.

Put a red and white top on barbie and tell your 5 year old that she is Sunderlands newest signing. <whistle>

Taking 3 10/11 year olds to their first match on sat ( there my cousins lads), got them shirts not too expensive but getting tHeir names on the back cost more than the shirts! Their grandad is a Mag so I want to get on the side of good in case they slide into the darkside!

Be careful with your lad. I took my son when he was small (3 or 4) and he hated the noise and shouting so much it put him off for life. He watches on TV and follows the lads avidly, but still hates going to the game (he is now 22!!!). My daughter on the other hand has always loved the whole live game experience and will go whenever I get her a ticket!!!
