will town have to punch above their weight to get a result at in form bradford? p8 w1 d5 L2 indicate town have a good defence, reasonable midfield but a little light up front. we could do with our lads scoring. town were very unlucky last Saturday, small wonder GT is pissy! what are our chances on Saturday? this is not a pre match tread but a mid weak taster discussion! floreat salopia!
I think we could well struggle against a high tempo side with an in-form goalscorer who could well go on to higher things _ we may be getting sick of draws but I would be delighted with a point from this one with some slightly easier-looking home games (on paper at least) coming up next month.
Will there be any signings this Friday or will he expect to play the squad bar Taylor on Saturday. At least Parry if fit and Reach could both start, unless Woods is brought in to RW?
Just back. Another failure to defend a lead. Winfield's sending off was one of the turning points as Hanson had hardly a kick up to then. He also did well to clobber Wells out of the game. The first booking might have been a sending off (the ref thought about it but consulted the linesman). The second yellow card was for deliberate hand ball, which seemed unlikely. Previous to that Bradshaw was through on the keeper slightly wide right and the ball sat up nicely for a lob which I nearly caught in the top tier of the away end. Goldson, switched to full back, was woeful today. Nice little turn by Woods to set up the goal
KDS, Thanks for the report - I think Goldson has been chopped and changed around too much despite putting in some decent performances, that is not ideal for a young player. Our lack of nous upfront has been well advertised on this site and no doubt we will hear the same excuses about playing well but being unlucky. Hopefully the next two home games will see us dominating the play a bit more though it is a bit worrying that both Carlisle and Gillingham have both improved recently.
As above, KDS thanks for the report. Town sounded cracking in the first half and then seemed to to the usual thing of getting the whole team to stand right by Weale and kic the ball out a few yards. Comments by a Bantam suggest that Bradshaw looked really good and was a real challenge to their CBs. Real shame that the town lost out in the end, but they need to get trained out of them this stupid pigging idea that if you are one goal up then you can relax and just apply the Hoofball clearance system to the game.
I cannot see that Bradshaw was the threat as suggested. No worse than Main, though. Reach was again better.
Who actually scored Town's goal? Having a few days away and will give "Challenge" update on return! Will bring back unknown Sicilian striker for STFC! OH! Sorry, no euros in Roland's wallet!
Looks like it was Bradshaw! So that's FOUR for the main man! Roma looked good last night......have they anyone we could loan? That won't get a red card! Ciao!
I keep excitedly looking for news after work has finished hoping we have signed some magical player or two who are experienced and skilful with a football. It hasn't happened yet.
I think some of the flak coming Bradders' way is ridiculous. His build up play isn't amazing but is hardly terrible, he puts a shift in and he's on target for 20 goals. What do some of our fans expect at this level?
I think Bradders will need to work hard to build fan's confidence, hearts and minds etc. I know he has got the goals, but he does sometimes look like a Springer puppy chasing shadows of birds flying over head. Note I said 'sometimes'. I'm all for supporting every player, I still argue for some of Jake Robinsons positives as an example!! bradders has some good attributes, but needs to work on his weaker points, some things will come as others get used to how he plays. We just need some different players in our squad who offer alternatives. A big striker who takes no prispners for example.
I think Bradshaw definitely would benefit from an experienced strike partner and has done well in difficult circumstances this season.
