The Chairboys head to the North East coast to take on the Black Cats at the Stadium of Light after both clubs reached the EFL Cup 3rd round and both being drawn away against teams from Manchester, this game we see Josh Scowen up against Luke O'Nien and I know who my money is on to win the midfield battle and he won't be in stripes. After resting most of his first team line up in midweek Gaz will have lots of fresh legs for this clash against the promotion favourites, TJ and Hanlan could make the squad Tafazolli played his first 45 mins of the season and could be involved. If I was in charge of choosing a League One game to be televised this weekend it would be a choice of this one or Wigan v Pompey but the powers that be have chosen Burton v Cheltenham for what reasons are beyond me so I will have to follow the game via Soccer Saturday and Twitter hoping we can maintain our good form and unbeaten start to the season
Just been over to the Sunderland board. Usually a friendly bunch of lads but was disappointed at a few nasty comments. I suppose there are alway a few. Wycombe probably have some but thankfully not on our forum. Hope it is a good game and it will be a massive bonus if we come away with 3 points. One would do for me
You have to remember Cardiff that Sunderland think they are Premier League side, what they tend to forget there are only 20 teams in the Premer & just because you can pull in 30,000 fans to home games doesn't mean diddly squat
Ah, the old we are a big team complex. We are better than everyone else because we used to be good. I will forgive them then. Anyway, it will be interesting to see our starting 11. Will Taff start after only 45 mins played so far. Who will be right wing back, actually those are really the only questions everyone else picks themselves.
You have to remember who went up when they didn't. They are just scared is all. They have had a record of throwing points away to what they would consider unfashionable clubs. Hence why they are still here. They aren't the only group of supporters like it. Do you really care what they think though?
Team News Gareth Ainsworth welcomed Ryan Tafazolli back from injury in the midweek cup success at Stevenage so he's available to provide competition in defence, while David Stockdale, Jack Grimmer, Josh Scowen, Curtis Thompson and others will be refreshed following their absence from the side at Stevenage. Jason McCarthy, Dominic Gape, David Wheeler and Nick Freeman are working their way back to full fitness.
I see the attendance for the game of the weekend live on sky Burton v Cheltenham was under 3K I wonder what the viewing figures were probably about the same
Either Stewart got injured on Saturday or Tuesday night or the other thought have we recieved an offer for him, I can not see Gaz leaving him out of a game like this
If he was injured or ill it would have been mentioned. I guess an offer has been made. So he has either been left out because he may not be committed for this match or whoever is interested has made it a condition (not Sunderland, surely)
