Morning all. One of particular interest to me at Cartmel is Triggerman @ 8s in the veterans chase. Hobb's only entry on the day and it's 600 mile round trip from Minehead to Cartmel! Must be in the frame. I was also keen on McCains Bourne in the lucky last but all his wins have come with some give in the ground and Maguire opted for the other stable entry. I'm going to side with Grandads Horse whose wins have all been on good or better ground. Ew singles and little double. Good luck all today.

    Grandad's Horse 10/1 Cartmel.

Back on a winning mark and riding in a winnable but competitive handicap. The team drive to Cartmel for this, their only runner and I will take that as a little tip in itself. The slightly longer trip will help and he'll handle the ground.

19.30 Ballinrobe- Call me Bubbles 5/4

Ruby comes here for one ride- altho he was disappointing at the festival at punchestown a couple of months ago, previous runs have shown he attains alot of ability and if back on track should make a mockery of the field. And altho he is short price, winner is still a winner :D

Wooly you'd probably want to know that Ted 'Wordsworth' Walsh described this one at Punchestown as 'he jumps like a bullock' <laugh>

Aazif will take a huge amount of beating in the 2.30 Cartmel, he has very solid form in the book and the horse who came 2nd LTO has won yesterday under top weeight. He is giving a stone here to everyone but shouldnt be a problem.

Ground has also turned heavy which won't be in his favour with more rain forecast for later in the West.

SMART SPENDER 100-30 Windsor 4.25 beaten here a week ago by two horses that I think were really well handicapped. Yard in form and this one will go well.

Karl Burke on ATR just now and he was very surprised to see 9/1 available about Angus Og in the first at Leicester. He gave it as his best chance of today despite having the fav Spykes Bay (10/3) in the 3.15 at Carlise. On e/w and in a double with Classical Diva in the first at Redcar.

KATTANGA FELLOW CITIZENS,back on these shores for a few days to take part in the great north dig and a bit of great british roof tile spotting.
my tip today was going to be that turkish thingy of old henry cecils but its a nr.
no real others fancies on the flat and i am focused on CARTMEL.
TOMMY SCUDAMORE only has the one ride there today--ANDREO BAMALEO,for the fiddlemeister ellison---if this one doesnt win,i shall eat my arklesupreme mounted portrait--with a nice glass of chianti.
in the veterans race---surely JAUNTY JOURNEY is massively overpriced at 16s----the each way wager should pay for my flight back to chief vambos mud hut in warmer climates.
good luck all----and remember-------ENJOY LIFES JOURNEY,BUT LEAVE NO TRACKS.
