Souleymane "Sol" Bamba (born 13 January 1985) is a French-born Ivorian professional footballer who plays for Palermo, as a centre back.

Bamba started his career in his native France with Paris Saint-Germain, but failed to establish himself in their first team and moved to Scotland to join Dunfermline Athletic in 2006. Two years later he was transferred to Hibernian, before joining Leicester City in January 2011. Bamba moved to Turkish club Trabzonspor in 2012.

Born in France to Ivorian parents, Bamba represented Ivory Coast in the 2008 Olympic Games and has since become a regular for the full national side

On 26 August 2014, after having been released by Trabzonspor, Bamba agreed a three-year deal with Serie A club Palermo.

Has anyone seen him play? Is he pacy, strong in the air, hot headed, cultured on the ball?

The other player about to sign is Granddi N'Goyi, a defensive midfielder, 26 years old, 6 foot 1, sits in front of the back four and has less of an eye for goal then David Batty.

Both players will be on loan from Palermo.

Both players signed until the end of the season subject to permanent signings if they impress

Not to sound a bit stupid but don't we only have one loan spot left to fill after Doukara signed permantly

Bamba is a real bonus. Was at the match when we played Leicester. Will be a very good partner for Cooper. Hopefully less likely to get sent off than Bellusci.

Wonder if that means the end for Bellusci? I too thought we only had one spot left for loans unless Adryan is going to be released?

Bit of a strange signing, he certainly won't be match fit having played once this season and 28 times in that last three seasons

Most likely be the end of Pearce in some way. I expect him to leave in the summer but we now have 4 CBs if we count Wootton as a right back.

To be honest I'm expecting one of or all four of the Loanees to be signed in the next 12 days

Not possible that we have made a signing as Glory said there is non coming in,and would have to say he was wrong and say sorry to Leeds60 if true.

Dont see that happening as a fee was involved in some if not all the loans if they became permanent and we can't pay any fee in this window.

Not quite sure a bloke released by second rate turkish team would really count as a signing of note. Out of the dozens that 60 cited he didn't scrape the barrel low enough to get to Bambi. But f it makes you happy....

Don't be mixing it, for the sake of everyone Mike and I are being civil to each other.

Del Fabro - another CB we have on loan with an option to buy Mr Wolves White which makes the Bamba signing even more of a peculiar one, guess it is wait and see time...

You would think that, but isn't it possible that the contract may have a loophole clause to cope with that? (Along the lines of 'A permanent transfer fee of £42m will be payable before the end of the next transfer window, unless joe bloggs has not played to the standard expected by LUFC. This process will take place during each transfer window during the loan period'.

Not quite legalese, but you know what I mean.

They could giggle it round buy now and pay in the summer. There probably is a loop hole in the deals

To be honest I would expect Pearce to be the one to go. I wouldn't be surprised if 'Del Fabro' is one for the future. I can't see why Belsucci and Cooper being shown the door by Celino as they are his signings and they are being started
