Who do you think will get the world player of the year? Surely it's Ronaldo's turn again. Also what does everyone think of the world team of the year? Surely the likes of Suarez, Kompany and Bale are good enough to get into that team or is this more anti British football crap from FIFA/UEFA again?
Suarez has to be up there as an option with the usual great players like Ronaldo and messi. I cant see any other candidates from the premiership worthy of selection tbh..
Ronaldo will win it, due to Messi being out injured for a good while. Would like to see Ribery win it, instead of the usual Messi/Ronaldo.
Reluctently, I can't pick anyone but Suarez , not even Messi is doing the stuff Suarez is doing these days . At the same time , I think he should get the award for most amazing way to use the most amazing teeth .
Messi's injury didn't influence this years awards, he was too far behind to catch up with Ronaldo. The Portuguese deserved it, but I suspect the usual suspects to come out now and say Messi was robbed. That would be Xavi, Iniesta and Co. who cannot stand the idea of a Real Madrid player picking up the award.
He has a good few months at the end of the year and should be nominated for the big prize? Good one. The other three did all year and in the Champions League, a competition Suarez failed to qualify for.
Agree. I found it embarrassing a few years back when they either gave it to xavi or iniesta (although great players) instead of CR. It was almost as though they were looking to give it to anyone but Ronaldo.
He wouldn't get in that neither, the ponytailed Swede has done more than enough to boot Suarez out of contention.
I've always preferred Ronaldo even though I know I'm in the minority. Messi is excellent but seems almost a one-trick pony whist Ronaldo is the more complete player. Dribbling, free kicks, corners, left foot, right foot and superb in the air. Well deserved imo.
Will have to agree to disagree there. Although Suarez is a knob of the highest order, he is a tremendous player. Just think how good he would be playing in front of a midfield like Arsenals for instance.
He is gifted I agree, but he is not Ibrahimavich's level and certainly isn't going to worry Messi and Ronaldo for a place on that team. Agreeing to disagree is a good course of action, debate is good
