Surely messi will win it yet again?

And the world XI is entirely made up of La Liga based players.

    Goalkeeper: Iker Casillas

Defenders: Dani Alves, Gerard Pique, Sergio Ramos, Marcelo

Midfielders: Xabi Alonso, Xavi Hernandez, Andres Iniesta

Forwards: Lionel Messi, Radomel Falcao, Cristiano Ronaldo

I'd have thought that a few bpl players would make it in, and possibly pirlo. RVP vs Falcao, Alonso vs Yaya Toure, Pirlo vs Xavi and Ramos/Pique vs Kompany/Thiago Silva seem to be some battles that could have had the team looking very different.

I'd also reckon Dani Alves and Marcelo are a bit unjust.

I think that World XI is a joke, to be honest. I know they have most of the best players, but the bias towards La Liga is getting really annoying. There are loads of better defenders out there than Marcelo and Ramos, and plenty of midfielders better than Alonso. Leighton Baines and Gareth Bale deserve it more.

I can't believe the entire world XI is from La Liga. Dani Alves, Ramos and Marcelo should not be in there. Players like Kompany and Chiellini are better than Ramos.

Well as Blatter has never heard of lowly Everton it would be a bit difficult to include him.

I wouldn't have Piqué in there either, he's been chosen purely for the fact he plays for Barca. Massively overrated player.

He also got bonus points for shagging Shakira.

    Goalkeeper: Manuel Neuer

Defenders: Phillip Lahm, Gerard Pique, Vincent Kompany, Leighton Baines

Midfielders: Andrea Pirlo, Xavi Hernandez, Andres Iniesta

Forwards: Lionel Messi, Radomel Falcao, Cristiano Ronaldo

    Fixed.

Pique's declined over the last season or two. Too focused on Shakira!

It is hard to argue with a forward line-up of Messi, Falcao and Ronaldo. Can you imagine if they were in the same team, would be just ridiculous.

Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand on Twitter: "How is Robin van Persie not in team of the season?

Rio, maybe because Falcao has been sensational over the last year.

For once they got something right, that was the best goal of the 10 shortlisted

In fairness Jordi Alba and Lahm would have got ahead of Baines of judging by ability <ok>

What are Dani Alves and Marcelo doing on that list?

Guardiola was up for coach of the year as well wasn't he? Out of work since May and he didn't actually win anything this year...
