Below are the winners who played in England when they won the Ballon d'Or

    Stanley Matthews Blackpool
    Bobby Charlton UTD
    George Best UTD
    Denis Law UTD
    Cristiano Ronaldo UTD
    Michael Owen Liverpool

None for Routemaster FC as they have no History
None for ££££ as they have no legends

The Balloon Door is a load of old tosh anyway. Who the so-called "Best Player in Europe / South America / The World is, is a subjective assessment which may have been credible at one time (and it was even doubtful then), but is now just a footballing celeb-fest. Is it Messi or is it Ronaldo. Frankly, who gives a toss..?

It may matter to the corporations who sponsor the clubs they play for, or the TV broadcasters who fill hours of airtime with this meaningless rubbish. It may matter to the player concerned whose agent can then add another couple of zeros onto his artiste's next contract negotiations, but all that has nothing to do with football.

Balloon Door belongs on the pages of Hello magazine.

The Player Who Scores The Most For Barca Or Real Award?
Bayern won everything in 2012/13. Messi and Ronaldo came first and second.
It's pathetic, much like the yearly team award.

They used to have 2 awards so the ballon dor wasn't the big award that it is these days. In 2001 Figo won the world player of the year, and Owen won the Ballon Do'r. Nowadays though they have scrapped the WPOTY award and they just have the one award

According to your link Owen won France Ballon d'Or - whatever that is. And Figo, as you say, won FIFA Ballon d'Or.

So....The Ballon d'Or and the men's FIFA World Player of the Year award were merged in 2010 and the world's best male player has since been awarded the FIFA Ballon d'Or each year. UEFA created the UEFA Best Player in Europe Award in 2011, so it could keep the prestige of the old Ballon d'Or after it was merged to create the FIFA Ballon d'Or

According to wiki the France Football Ballon d'Or is the European player of the year and FIFA Ballon d'Or is the World player of the year - now merged. Owen won the former. All clear now.

Fatem Ben Arfa must have won the Ballon D'or surely? He told us he was the greatest. Ok he spent most of his time in Chicken Cottage munching down on fried chicken but I believed him.
