Tony Mowbray expects Dan Ballard to return to training before next month's World Cup break but it could be Dec before he is back in Champ action. CB Ballard has been out since mid-August after suffering a fractured foot in SAFC's 2-2 draw against QPR at the SoL

Makes the start of the season even better considering how early on we lost him. He was looking excellent

Its scarey to think where we could be now if him, Simms and Stewart hadn't have got injures.
I really think we have a good chance of being promoted this season when they return.
My only worry is being able to get to December without them and Sheff Utd and Norwich making a big gap between us in the league

It's certainly exciting times. I'd imagine we will have a few lined up to come in during the window as well. Hopefully we can keep the squad together and nobody leaves

Our aim is probably the play-offs anyway, so those two teams won't matter . . . . another fortune to be spent at Wembley :emoticon-0105-wink:

I like Mowbray's approach - these lads might be back on the park soon, but why rush them? It's the opposite approach to what we've seen in the past. It's refreshing and it shows the difference of having an experienced manager at the helm
