I dont in anyway agree with what Hazard did but I empathise with his frustration. I dont like the "Ball Boy" phrase because it infers that an Adult has assaulted a minor which isnt the case, the Ball Boy is over the age of 16. In addition, his response was a direct refelction of football today (and hence poetic justice I suppose) where he looked like a casualty of war in a 2 bit Z movie - shocking really! A sad day for football all round and it shows how all the rules and review procedures that the FA have (or probably dont have) fail to keep the game clean, fair and sporting!
I don't agree Smithers we can't have players assualting people cus they're frustrated, Hazard didn't need to go for that ball the ball person was right next to it, if he thought he was wasting time he should tell the ref not knock him over a kick him, he wasted more time and got sent off. There is a story that the ball person was saying he would waste time on face/twitter or something, so Swansea have something to answer for in that but if you hit every teenager for being unco-operative, stroppy or full of there own importance we would need a lot more A&E departments.
Just seen it agaun, seems to me that Hazard pushed the ballboy who fell on the ball and acouple of seconds later, Hazard kicked him. I blame Boss Hogg and tat dim witted ref/sheriff who fancied Daisy Duke something rotten, aaagggghhhh
Ok my 2 pence worth on this. The ball boy in question is the Directors son and by all accounts he is bit of a jumped up prat, (the son that is). He was not meant to be ball boying last night but was brought in at the last minute to cover for someone and so went on to tweet that he was going to waste time. I've seen the tweet and also the 72,000 extra followers he gained in 3 hours after the match all mainly wanting to beat him to a pulp, but I won't go there! I have also seen Hazard kick at the ball from 2 different camera angles and yes I agree he was stupid to kick out so close to him, he in fact did not touch him but instead toe poked the ball from underneath him. How I see it is that if this was Stoke and the opposition ball boy wasting time we would be up in arms about it, especially as the stakes were so high, (Wembley final and all). The ball boy did a brilliant bit of play acting and pulled off his role superbly. I don't condone hitting children whatsoever and also I don't condone prima donna players over stepping the mark. But who I do feel sorry for is Swansea as a football club as this is their first ever major Cup Final and yet it has been overshadowed by a jumped up little twerp play acting and cheating! If you watch from this camera angle he clearly kicks the ball from underneath him - http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...otage-supports-Belgian-claim-kicked-ball.html
Jowler mate, I'm not in anyway defending Hazard mate, but the Ball Boy wasnt a boy and his actions merely reflect that play acting and unsporting behaviour that goes on in football today. Just my opinion mate.
PGF Thanks for posting that Photo. Must say, that young man for want of other words to describe him( I would be banned for saying what I really think) because I hear he's legally an adult, or SIXTEEN not far off it is it.? I would rather kick that idiot other that note, that be asked to SHARE it? Didn't even comment on it. Sorry no offence to Swansea nor you the fans but he's ONE Pathetic individual. Hazzard should not have kicked out, but many other player's would have done exactly the same thing. And it's seem's Hazzard did NOT make any contact with his body. WHY is he holding his lower CHEST area?... enough said by me. On a brigher note. GOOD LUCK in the Final.
Everything has pretty much already been covered by everyone else here, but there's one thing I will say about the lad, he's a good actor, I thought he'd got broken ribs from the faces he was pulling!
