Bale turned down bigger wages at United for bigger club Real http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/manchester-united-made-100m-gareth-2297792 http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...ubmitting-bid-says-Real-Madrid-president.html
Real have been biggest for years followed by Barca and Bayern will overtake soon http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-21168666
I know in the US Chelsea are ahead of United. Shirt sales and viewing figures are bigger for Chelsea. With Moyes and a few baron years they'll slip down the rankings even further. On a side note I still find it funny that the boss of their new sponsors Chevy got the boot for the deal he signed with them. Fair play to ManU for getting the deal but everyone else at Chevy thought they overpaid so badly that they sacked him.
I'm sorry but if you don't think United are one of the biggest clubs you need your noggin tested. Madrid and United for me.
How do we define 'biggest'? Fan base? Honours won? Revenue? Ac Milan have been in 8 European/Champions league finals in the last 25 years, winning 5 of them. Their honours are just as good if not better than uniteds. They might not have the fan base and revenue of united, but that's only because united are in the premier league where the teams are marketed so well.
They are one of the biggest but I think Real Madrid stand alone. Best history honours wise, can always attract the best players, iconic and massive stadium, 3 biggest transfers ever etc. Then there is another tier consisting of probably United, Bayern, Juve, Milan, Barca maybe Liverpool who could all make a case.
Success, history, fan base, ticket sales, popularity. Not denying Milan are a big club, they're huge, but United are too. League titles in a top league defines a club imo and they have the most in our country. I know, but you can't dismiss United for somebody chosing more money over them, that's the player's persona affecting that. I've always thought Madrid were the biggest followed by Milan/Bayern/Juve/Liverpool growing up but what United have achieved over the past 20 years is remarkable and even if someone doesn't like them/hate them they can't deny them that.
True that's why i'd stick them in the next tier but as I say, over the course of club football history, Real stand alone for me. Players would leave United to go to Real, doesn't happen the other way around.
Heard it was because the original deal he negotiated only included the logo, and not the name. Then Chevy had to come back with even more money to include the name. And that's why he got fired.
It's a bit like a 'my cocks bigger than your cock' argument - who really gives a **** other than glory hunters??
A Liverpool fan calling others gloryhunters. The irony. If you don't care, then why bother reading or posting on the thread.
Problem with comparing UTD to real is exchange rate, if the Pound grows stronger UTD are worth more, like 5 years ago when the pound as much stronger.
Not really the £ was overpriced v the euro which made united seem richer. It has settled at a realistic rate now
Because your threads are always full of ****e and quite honestly worth ready purely for the comical value... For Example - http://www.not606.com/showthread.ph...ridge-the-toughest-place-in-Europe-to-play-at
Are these one of these posts from London OECW that come back and hit him bang on the nose like a boomerang? A recent classic comes to mind. What can it be?
