One thing is a must do, tomorrow, and that is that the entire Jack Army, must give Bale the most fiercely hostile reception, all game, I don't care if he is Welsh, Wales are not playing tomorrow, and we need to make it very uncomfortable for him to perform and play, by doing this, we will reduce considerable the spurs threat, if ever our boys need the 12 man it is tomorrow, so please let's not let Bale settle into his game!................. please log in to view this image
true thai! to be honest, it doesn't matter what you do to stop him, he's that good he'll tear you apart anyway, and if he has an off day, they can fall back on van der vaart, modric, adebayor, defoe, parker... easily the best team we've played this season, and i include manchester city in that
he will relish that dragon the same as it does for all strikers, they love it so its unproductive......i dont know of any striker who dont like opposition fans booing them,
When Ryan Giggs was subbed at The Liberty the initial reaction of some idiots was to boo him. What a way to treat our most successful footballer of all time. I will be going to The Liberty to support the Swans and hopefully see some top class football. I certainly won't be going there to give Gareth Bale, currently Wales's top footballer, a hostile reception.
How about encouraging Swans fans to be cheering their own team on, instead of cheering or booing whichever superstar happens to be at the Liberty? Nobody cheered or booed Tony Pulis when Stoke were here because he is Welsh, and so it is natural to assume that Bale would be given a certain type of reception because he is a superstar, not because he is Welsh. Same thing happened with Giggsy getting applauded off by the West Stand at the Man U game. No connection to the club, Cardiff youth, most of the time didn't turn up to play for Wales and yet he still gets a special response from the West Stand. Whether to boo or cheer an opposing player is not something that enters a normal fans head until they have directly affected their club in some way. Their nationality is irrelevant and should stay that way. If we put that energy into supporting our team, instead of directing it at opposition players, we could have much more of an effect on results. Will you be booing or cheering or neither on Saturday Phil?
Leeeeon, if u r going to the match have a sign saying i am Leeeeon so i can cya on the telly, same for the rest of you
I dunno. Not so sure I'd get out alive! I seem to disagree with a hell of a lot of people on here! Also, TV rarely shows the section I sit in, because of their reputation of over reacting to goals/decisions/tackles. (Not me though, I am calm and courteous throughout ). I'll shout Leeeeon louder than normal on Saturday if that helps!
Bale is a remarkable player, perhaps the best UK player in the Prem, perhaps the best in Europe. Accord him respect and be thankful that he's Welsh. He may end up tearing us apart but he'll be stunning in the process. I watch Spurs matches over here just to see him play.
I'll be doing both, not that difficult! hell we seem to have some damp squids on here today! Oh well that's buried that one,..............
I`m not in favour of booing anyone, whoever they are. Let`s be thankful that one of the best players in Europe, if not the World, is visiting Swansea to show us his skills & ability. Although it would be nice if his ability was off kilter just for this match!
