Just read this morning he's torn his hamstring grade 1 Anybody know how bad it is or how long he be out for?
Considering his performances in the last couple of important games it could be a good thing that he might not play. Before shooting me, hear me out. Against Man $ity he delayed a vital pass that could have won us the match. Last Sunday again a poor decision probably cost us the match. I mentioned this a few days ago that he suffers a bit of white line fever and that Harry gives him a free role is detrimental to our play sometimes. Don't think I don't love him in full flight but that sort of thing can cost vital points.
Some fair points, but we don't really have an alternative - Krancjar differently type of player, Rose not good enough (yet).
Hi PL, I accept that Gareth has problem areas to his game. But he scored v City, and won a goal v Arsenal through the penalty For me, if he's fit he plays.
I know HD and GH , he is vital to the cause. Hopefully someone on the coaching staff will have had a word to him about it.
Everyone was poor against Arsenal but he was still one of our better players in that game and he played very well against City, one slight error doesn't change that.
Bale has to play, if he's fit. No question. He's our best player, and our most entertaining player. Let's not kid ourselves, Sunday's match is going to be tough. We are playing our greatest ever bogey team, and our humiliating defeat to AFC has added extra pressure. It's not just Bale, but the whole team that needs to respond, and I am certain that the team will be better able to respond if Bale is part of it.
You playing Sandro in a front 3? Bit strange. Sandro Modric Lennon VDV Bale Ade For me, we have to attack.
Lennon Sandro Modric Bale Saha Ade When we've kept it simple, yet flexible, we've been at our best - and when we tinker with formations, we balls it up horribly. If we're going to attack, at home, then we attack like we do in our other home games - no solitary man up front, no Sandro playing in the hole (again, Ghoddle10, you're tactically ignorant), and for this one we should keep VDV in reserve. Ade and Saha destroyed Newcastle, and whilst I won't write off Man Utd's defence by any stretch of the imagination as that's a dangerous combination of hubris and wishful thinking, they will be more of a handful than Ade and an unfit VDV.
I put VDV in my team on the assumption that he was fit, if he is not 100%, then yes I would go with your team. Surely VDV is in our first 11 when fit though? VDV will give us more bodies inmidfield as well, and they could be crucial. They have no pace to hurt us with (except Wellbeck/Nani) and the extra man in the middle could pay dividends. I agree with GH10 on another thread that Dawson should play instead of King, whether King is available or not. His lack of mobility against Arsenal was quite a shock to me, and I worry about the damage he is doing to himself when he is struggling so much.
lets be honest, what does it matter, we will just roll over for utd and not show any confidence to go and win as its easy to lose agaisnt utd.
