Inevitably, as Bale has been so good this year, Spurs will receive offers for him when the season ends.

Now obviously no one will want him to go, but if he was to go, how much would you expect to get for him?
Personally if I was Levy I wouldnt accept anything less than £50-£60 million, especially if City or Real come in for him.

Though I personally think Bale will stay at Spurs for atleast one more season, especially if you guys make the Cl this year, which you probably will.

I'd say only 4/5 clubs could afford him, so the amount offered is irrelevant, it will be rejected as he's not long signed a new deal here. A few of those teams will go through transition soon (managerial), so its not the best time to move to them if you were thinking of it. Bale has a couple more years before his peak, so this thread is a moot point imo.

My thoughts on bale are as follows.

He's only 23 and doesn't need to move on just yet, especially if we make the CL. He's got years and years left in him and for his own benefit, it's probably a good idea that he continues his development at Spurs, as it's doing him no harm whatsoever at the moment. Also, I feel that in 2 years time, Bale's price could rise even further and we could get more for him, when he's matured slightly more at 25. - Levy will also be thinking this, I'm sure.

Bale's value must be astromonical at the moment. His left foot is one of the best in world football, he's powerful, athletic, has a great cross, great free kick and can destroy teams in the blink of an eye. Not only is he a great left winger with exceptional pace, but we have now all found out that he's a more than capable attacking midfielder, or even a striker. As it stands, he must be worth £60million if Modric was £30m+. - He's way more valuable than Modric due to his position and how hard those left sided players are to come by.

I personally think he'll stay if we make the CL, but if he doesn't, and I had to choose 1 club for him to go to, it would probably be united. The reason for this is I want him to stay in the premier league. Players of his brilliance shouldn't be leaving the best league in the world. It was really bad for the premiership when we lost Ronaldo. I hate to say it, but united are a club that consistently win things, have a great history and have a soon to retire welshman! If there's one club who he'd slot in well at other than us, it's got to be them. - but could they afford Levy's demands? I doubt it, unless someone quite special was heading our way...

As for Real Madrid, I don't get why he'd want to go there? He seems like a lad who wants to enjoy his football, over anything else. RM seem to be having a few problems at the moment and Modric has completely flopped since leaving us. - surely Bale must be thinking about that situation?!
There's no certainty over JM's job either, and they have been second best to Barca for years. - I don't know what the attraction is. If it's money, there will be other options for him, such a Bayern. - But then who wants to go to the Bundesliga? Do yourself a favour and stay in the premiership Gareth.

£60m value for now, could rise a fair bit over the next couple of years.

...which no-one here is interested in.

Manager up in the air, Ronaldo with question marks, and Modric leaving nothing but a bum print on the place.

...or were talking about Wilshere to Barca or City?

I believe we have two more years of bale, possibly one more season, unless we invest to challenge for the title.

Bale will want to be scoring wonder goals in the big champions league games or helping us win at Utd to go top.

Although right now hes clearly happy and won't force through a move but 60 million due to his age, potential and importance to us, in terms of his current value.

Calm down Petal. . . I think Bale is probably just the type of player they are looking for. He might go, he might not. But getting your knickers in a twist with me isn't going to make any difference to the situation <ok>

I think you're getting ahead of yourself a little bit. Let's see where Spurs finish this season first. If you finish outside the top 4 then I think it's inevitable that Bale will go, but even if you finish in the top 4 he may still be swayed by an offer from one of the big clubs, which will inevitably come this summer.

One thing is certain, without Bale Spurs would not be in the position they currently are, so it's obviously in your interest to try and hold onto him. The trouble is, when you have a player of such quality, his head is going to be turned by the prospect of playing for one of the big clubs who can guarantee him Champions League football.

A 24 year old Ronaldo went for £80m 4 years ago, Bale must be worth £55m - £60m currently. Bale is improving all the time and his value is only going to increase over the next 4 or 5 years.

I think Bale will be with us for at least another couple of seasons, he may well consider his future at age 25 or 26 if Spurs are not seriously challenging. He is enjoying his football and has no reasons to leave Spurs (yet).

I hope Levy gives AVB the players he wants and we build a team around Bale, we are so close to putting together a very special team.

Ronaldo scored over 30 goals two seasons running, one was nearly 40 to get that value, Bale is nowhere near that.

Ahead of myself in which way? To believe he may stay?

Well I cant see him leaving this summer but i know he wont stick around forever as we have to match his ambitions.

As for the Fee, I added in the Levy factor and the fact his contract is long, although I dont view him as being "worth" 60 million, but if we sell this year then we have to demand a massive fee.

Sounds like you're winding yourself up to me <ok>

I'm just commenting on the OP's question. You can't hide the fact that Bale is attracting a lot of attention from the big clubs and the speculation about where he will go will be intense this summer. As I said, getting your knickers in a twist with me won't help you with that, so it's probably best you calm down now instead of reacting every time you see one of my posts.

I think Bale will attract a good price, but he's not on a par with Ronaldo so the price comparisons are a little erroneous. That said I think Spurs can expect upwards of £45m

Picking out one player and saying, "without him you'd be significantly worse" is easy for virtually every side in the division.
Van Persie, Suarez, Walnut, Mata, Lukaku or Michu down to the likes of Benteke, Lambert, Kone or Le Fondre, remove their influence and each side would lose a substantial chunk of their points.
Teams tend to set up around their best player, as we've seen in La Liga with Messi and Ronaldo, so it's a non-point.
If that player's not in the side, then it sets up differently and the emphasis is different. Bale was missing against Reading, Webb was the ref, we went behind early and we won anyway.

Peskie, it's been a while since you mentioned how Levy will be super keen to sell Bale to a rival this summer, to avoid losing £5 million by selling him abroad next summer. I always think that's an excellent point which you make so impeccably well <ok>.

As I mentioned I think you need to see where Spurs finish this season to get an idea of Bale's next move. It's all speculative, but he has in the past said that he would consider a move to another club if Spurs couldn't offer him Champions League football. If you finish top 4 this season, he may stay, but the interest in him now is sky high and it's inevitable that some big offers are going to come in for him in the summer.

It will be a testing time for Spurs, do they hang on to their best player and try to build a squad around him, or do they wait (what if he has a rubbish season next year?) for his value to increase ? Or cash in on him now whilst he'd command a top fee and use the money to press ahead with the stadium build ?
