IMO it was a dive...I wish he's stop as its embaressing...he's going to get a reputation that will codt him free kicks and penalties in future. Sttangely enough it galvanised arsenal and we seemed to completely lose our way after it. But until managers and fans condemn there own playersfor diving it will continue. And arsenal their own history in thid department as do most clubs... Remember pires, cole, eduardo etc. So while I get your annoyance remember this the next time your player dives and instead of blindly defending him....slate him too. Congrats on today but hope this is your last good feeling this season
Pires used to trail a leg and Eduardo didn't dive - as confirmed by UEFA. Bale actually dived - there was NO contact.
Then why did his feet get tangled just after Gibbs' lunge? I don't condone diving by anyone, but if he did that on purpose he's a genius as well as a cheat. Anyway - how do you know there was no contact. You do know there is six inches of movement between TV frames at the speed they were going....
Like I said...until ALL are condemned by ALL of us then it will continue...pires dived on several occasions....Eduardo dived...using uefa as proof is a joke mate...they defended rvp sending off v barca so was that right? And Cole regularly dived (and still does) It aint an anti arsenal thing...Gerrard, Joe Cole, Ronaldo, plus numerous others go down 'easily' ... Pundits and fans talk about contact, cleverly leaving your foot down but diving is diving but I guess we wont agree so I'll but out
Yes it was a dive, yes he cheated, yes it's not the first time, but let's be honest he is not the only footballer playing the game to behave in this way....
He caught my eye when he dived against the Madrid....he is one of the worst in the prem, but agree it isn't uncommon.

Bale had pushed the ball too far ahead of himself to score so went to ground with no contact from Szczesny. There was contact between Gibbs and Bale, but nopt enough to send him over and frankly if that contact means a pen then there should be about 20 pens each per game. The tackle on Gibbs by Walker was much closer to being a pen.

Bale is a cheat. Been cheating for ages though. Nothing new. Its less the outright dives and more the screaming and holding his leg. You would think the mug would try and focus on adding some skill to his one-dimensional game instead of rolling around every few minutes. Maybe he is just trying to catch barcalona's eye though. They love a good cheat there after all.
