Bloody hell, he's not worth that, don't get me wrong, he's a very good player, i should know, he plays for Wales and i'm going to be biased but he's not worth that amount of money, when Ronaldo left us, he won his 3rd premier league title and a champions league the season before and he was worth 80 million now that deal is a bargain and maybe we should've asked Real Madrid for more money.
Bale may not be worth 93 million to you and me and most people but to some one who desperately want him and can recoup that amount through other ways, he IS worth that and more. Ronaldo was probably worth more than £80m to Real in terms of the profits, increase in following, attendance, shirts , advertising, tv rights etc etc and probably would have paid £100m if united had insisted. Beckham went for a giveaway £25m. They were celebrating because in footballing terms he was worth that but in terms of image, and finance he was worth more than double that amount.
Spurs are spending money like it's going out of fashion !!! If they buy this Wiiian and the other " unknown", they will have spent almost £100K and Mr Levy would never sanction that sort of money, unless he was sure that Bale to RM is a done deal for a lot of smackers !!! What I am excited about is that when RM confirm the signing of Bale, will that then release Ronnie to come and take up our vacant No. 7 shirt ? Maybe that's why we have been hanging back in the transfer market until now ? Thoughts ?
I hope that's true, but would we be willing to spend the money to bring Ronnie back? The only way I can see this happening is if Ronaldo forces his way out AND we offer Rooney + Cash. Would be well worth it though, could you imagine Ronaldo and RVP on current form on the same pitch, let alone the same team?
Most of our "targets" have only been media hype, otherwise we would have signed about a dozen players by now. As the saying goes "don't believe everything you read in the papers"
As far as I'm aware we've only gone after 3 players this window, Fabregas, Fellaini, and Baines. I'm not sure we would have ever gotten Fabregas, especially after Thaigo left for Bayern. I personally don't want to sign Baines, but I think the inexperience of Woodward and Moyes not being used to having money to ensure of a transfer goes through is why we haven't signed Fellaini yet.
As far as I know United still have the £80 mil they got for Ronnie banked and waiting for his return
I think this is a high possibility. After all, with all the money that RM have spent this summer, they still owe Spurs 15million ish for Modric and now Bale for 90+million, I thought I read that RM can't afford to pay Spurs the cash up front total that they are demanding, and therefore might have to sell Ronaldo to you to fund the tranfer for Bale
Sorry but you don't buy Bale and then sell Ronaldo - that is just pure madness. Ronaldo is twice the player Bale will ever be
exactly what was in mind too dose that give us more hope now? tbh according to new they were 2 players so far, one he admitted that nothing happened officially from UTD side, so is not like he rejected us and the other is Cesc who we all know how much he attached to the club and fact Barca need him more after the departure of Alcantara, and the Arsenal clause of 50% on profit and the change of managers make it harder meanwhile is never easy to get world class players , we could had chosen the easy way just like chelsea and sign average players you know CR is asking for more money now to sign the contract bcz of tax changes.. same issue Monaco are having now with falcao
