Simply put ask the wham fans and one answer only.

    Baldock every time.

For once BCFC have come out of a deal with the better player.

The bluebirds are chomping about Maynard but what I saw in 20 minutes last week I know who I would have out of the two.

I will be interesting come the season end who has scored the most goals, I think with our supply chain baldock quite comfortably.

Oh how good it is to be a city fan, onwards and up wards fellow reds.

I actually think it will be pretty close.... Some forget that his goals pretty much keep us up at least 2 seasons and he hasn't suddenly become a bad player.

Don't forget that WHUM fans have seen very little of Nicky but his record there still stands scrutiny with 4 goals in only 3 starts and 7 sub appearances. Total the latter and they probably add up to a couple of games so 4 in 5 is a strike rate we would all drool about.

I for one won't be writing him off just yet and if he goes to Cardiff, this could be exactly the fit that we so desperately wanted for him here and they might get to see the finishing skills that we never provided for him. Time will tell...

That said, I have to say I prefer Sam to Nicky, 100%

Well if maynards at his best we know he will get Cardiff 20 goals, and that's the bad thing, even his last season with us and if was terrible, if still managed to get 8, I've not seen enough of baldock to judge, if he's still finding the net with ease in 10 games time then we will know how good he is, mind you if does certainly talk the talk

I think Baadif will finish below us this season they have had a few seasons up there in top 6 dont think they will make it this though

Baldock wants to be at Ashton Gate - Maynard does not - no brainer as to who I want in my team

Really and why is this? Because over the past few seasons you lot have had good start but come up short at the business end of the year well we'll see after 10 games who's the better team

"Because over the past few seasons you lot have had good start but come up short at the business end of the year"

<laugh> Please tell me that statement above wasn't written by a Cardiff Fan , the worlds most renowned team for "coming up short at the business end of the year"

I think you will need to wait till the end of the season to see who's the better team BTW, but as of now it's us, cos we destroyed you less than a week ago!! ;)

Back to the thread, I liked Maynard very much at first, but he didn't treat us very well towards the end - which BCFC should perhaps share some of the blame - we should have fired him out straight away - especially when Leicester offered £7m - we must have been MAD.....

Anyway, his behaviour towards us is divorced from his ability on the pitch and he will certainly score goals if he gets the right service.

So will Baldock - but we have only seen one goal so far from him. All WUMing aside I think it will take about 10 games for both teams to see what they have got.

We haven't seen enough of Baldock in a red shirt to really compare the two but ultimately as smhbcfc pointed out, one wants to be with us and the other did not. Strength of character and commitment to the club are equally as important to goal scoring ability and on that front, Maynard scores a low mark.

Good luck to him but I honestly don';t give a toss if he scores 1 goal or 100 goals for the Redbirds as they're not my club and I just don't care how they do. Let's forget waht Maynard did and concentrate our energy and karma on helping the boys this year.

Maynard plays in the Premiership (or hopes to)
    Baldock is in the Championship
Maynard faces some of the world's best defenders who are usually pitted up against the likes of Rooney, RVP, Torres, Adebeyor, Tevez & Aguero
Baldock will be facing Peterborough, Barnsley, Huddersfield, Millwall, and others who, and lets be fair, would suffer badly against any of the above.

So who do you think will be scoring the most goals this season (answers on a post card to...)

Baldock in my team because he wants to be here and looks like an exciting team player and goal scorer
