Do you want them to stay? Seen a few comments regarding Davies saying they aren't bothered if he stays or goes. Baldock seems to be the more favourite of the 2 for league 1 level. I personally want both to stay. They would be great at league 1 level and that would be great for us. If we could get 20+ from one and 15+ from the other that could earn us around 15-20 points which could be the difference come the end of the season. Along with Moloney, Cunningham and Kelly they are the players I hope we keep. We need to build a team around them as they are our better players. Don't see the point in bringing in more strikers if we still have these 2. Would arguably be the best partnership in the league. Thoughts? I definitely agree that we should do our level best to keep them for next season. Although I understand that they may not wish to take a wages cut and/or to play League One.
Davies - Without a doubt yes, unless we are offered silly money such as £1M Baldock - If he can stay fit then yes, however my gut feeling is if we get an offer in excess of £600k we should take it.
I rather expect them both to leave looking to keep their championship wages as we won't be able to pay them what they think they are worth even though we have paid their wages whilst they have spent most of the season trying to get fit. I wouldn't be at all surprised if any championship club makes approaches for them they will be aggitating to go. On another point I see Palarse are saying City have lowered their asking price for Albert seems rather unlikely as Cardiff and Swansea have shown interest as well as any number of NPC clubs I think we should wait and see what happens any trivial bids from Palarse or anyone else for any of our players should be treated with the contempt it would deserve, with a couple of exceptions of course, we should consider any bids for Fontaine and Killa.
Would like both of them to stay, but not convinced that they formed the best partnership together YET. And Hawk, I would not have a problem chipping in together to pay of Kilkenny
as with most of comments, keep them both. I can see Davies being a Pitman in this league as he doesn't mind shooting on sight, Baldock always seems to get in the right positions so should score a few. However who wouldn't want to stay in Championship if they had the choice?
love to see them stay, but only if there commited to the club, really dont want to see them score a bundle first half of the season only to look for a move in january.
Rated Davies from day 1 and always thought that he should heve been given more game time- Maaybe this was down to fitness- Baldock, I am not so sure about-He is young and having come away from League 1 to go to West Ham, would be off if a championship club wer interested.
Well you never know, they MIGHT see the revolution that is going on here and be prepared to take a chance for 6 months on us doing well and going straight back up - after all, they can always leave in January and if they do well in League One (as I am sure they will), this would only improve their options but there again, if we are doing well, would they go... A few comments I have heard about SD would suggest he is ready to leave but time will tell...
Love to keep them both as they could well be lethal in this league. Would'nt be at all surprised to see them both go though .........
