It is clear that the team put together by Bruce has had no consideration for balance and whether the players are any good or not. That is why he has been sacked.
Now MON is in, I can only assume he will pick a balanced team which will perform well and do the job.

Now this makes me think about who we can play to make it a balanced team, and it keeps coming to certain players, mainly Sessegnon. While he has a lot of flair, and makes run, IMO he makes the team unbalanced, and he was bought by Bruce without consideration.

It would be a big call, but I would drop Sessegnon. I know everyone will disagree, but that is what being a manager is, making big decisions that benefit the team.

The reason why I would drop him is because we need an out and out LW, not a playmaker that will drift inside. Thats what you call unbalanced. Until we get a LW, Kieran Richardson must play there.

My team, when all fit would be:

    ...............Westwood...........
    Bardo...Brown..Turner..O'Shea
    Larsson..Catts..Vaughan..Richo
    ..........Wickham..Noble..........

With that we have O'Shea who played LB for Man Utd and plays there for Ireland. Bardo who is a RB. Brown and Turner a solidish defence.

Now you will have Larrson on the RW, crossing in. Also Richo on the LW, hugging the line and crossing in (where Sessegnon lacked this). Catts being the defensive midfieldern and vaughan attacking.

This leaves Wickham to hold it up for Noble.

This is not an ideal squad, it is the one left by Bruce.

Now you can all slate me, call me stupid. But a balanced team works better than individuals.

All about opinions aj, but I doubt you'll have many people agreeing with yours....
You simply HAVE to play Sessegnon, he's got flair, skill, pace, shoots whenever he can, picks a pass, and also puts a shift in working back to help his full back - That's not individuality, that's a TEAM player !!

A place for Sess is a must. We just need a manager to manage him and Catts and Richardson and Elmo (and so on) and we think we have just got him.
Agreed a balanced side is a must. Players playing in their correct positions will go a long way to addressing this.
You take Sess out of our side and the flair (entertainment factor will be zilch) has gone. I know you might say we need to roll our sleeves up and fight for points from now on but the days of hard graft alone have long gone in the premier league. Skill, flair,GOALS are what you need in this league. Sess is the only player in our side who is capable of all
three. Just need to work on his nose bleeds when he gets within 20 yards of the goal. Has bto be in for me.

How about Sess playing as an attacking central midfielder?

I don't know what to say really (for achange).

Drop Sess....if it's for the good of the team yes, but not to pur Ricco in his place...

But you may have hit on something.

I see Richo as a more out and out winger, which is what we need. I agree I would LOVE Sess to fit my team, but he doesn't fit anywhere. He would fit a team that plays 4-3-3, you know like Chelsea.

The players we have cannot play like that. I just can't fit Sess anywhere.

The only formation he could fit would be the diamond formation:

    ........Catts......
    Larson......Richo
    ........Sess.........

That is Sess's best position, but its behind a 2 man attack not a 1 (where Bruce failed). Unfortunately Bruce did not think about this when he bought him.

Also I think Richo deserves to be in the first 11, he has performed brilliant this season.

Interesting mate, i don't think Sess knows his best position let alone anyone else...

I can understand where your coming from though...but he's a bit of an enigma is Sess.

Sorry mate but Richardson shouldn't be anywhere near our first 11 , his passing is very, very poor in fact if you take away his pace he brings nothing to the table. And it would be suicide to start with Whickham and Noble. Sess is probably first name on team sheet for me.

You are right, the team does need to be balanced, but, it must also be disciplined. If a player is aked to play a role then he must play it. Yesterday Bendtner played everywhere he wanted to play and none of those areas included leading the line or throwing himself body and soul into the six-yard box. Until we get another centre forward he MUST lead the line even if he doesn't like it.
I would be happy to see a variation of the 4-5-1 with the right attitude and adaptable as a 4-2-3-1. this will allow sess to play in the middle and retain the balance you want.
    Maybe:
    -------------------------Westwood-----------------------
    Bardsley--------Turner-----------Brown---------O'Shea
    -------------Meyler-------------------Vaughan-----------
    Larsson---------------Sessegnon------------Richardson
    -------------------------Bendtner------------------------

I think we've got quite a good team, maybe another CAM & a lb but I think out team should be top half easily
