Baird has personal problems as mentioned above ^ apparently it has something to do with his Father's illness. Zamora on the other hand can't be arsed.
The problem with Zamora he is not the manager. It's a team game and Jol makes the tactics, and if Zamora is not carrying out his part to orders then the whole team suffers, and playing up front he is a vital part of any tactics. It's possible that Zamora has been tapped up about a move and is afraid of getting a bad injury (although rumor is he has been carrying a injury all season, hence his poor performances and being left out). I guess we'll find out in the January transfer window. Is Zamora becoming another Emil Heskey ?
I don't believe he's carrying an injury, if that were the case Cappello wouldn't have called him up for the England game. He hasn't been awful all season just recently.
Last game against Liverpool he received a strong challenge from Agger I think and he was limping for a couple of minutes... But even before that his performances were average.
