Zayed Alzayani, the chairman of the Bahrain Grand Prix has slammed the 12 F1 teams for veto'ing a rescheduled date in the gulf state. On a visit to the british grand prix he had little positive things to say as he critised the teams for being tempremental as he clames the venue would of been safe to hold an F1 race this year. He is also uncertain whether FOM, FIA and FOTA well allow the Bahrain GP back on the calandar for 2012 saying it is 'not his call'. Alzayani did however say he enjoyed the race and it was a fair result but claims the Bahrain GP would have more to offer F1 than the British GP.
Thanks for this Bando. Zayed Alzayani sounds so bitter one wonders if he added a little too much Angostura to some hypocritical indulgence in alcohol…
Welcome to the board Jimbo. I dont think mr Alzayani has done any favours to get people on his side. In fact he could have probably done nothing as most would expect bahrain to be back in 2012 but now im not so sure
It does sound like a drunken rant, he, he. Bahrain would have been more exciting than Silverstone?! Er, it's not called Bore-rain for nothing But seriously, he should concentrate on putting his own house in order before criticising others; it's not FOTA's fault that there was no Bahrain Grand Prix.
Let's cut the guy a little rope eh? - The poor chap's hypocrisy may have resulted in difficulty containing the tongue-loosening effects of alcohol… (Woops! Did I say "poor chap"? Crikey! What do they put in this energy drink… My personal wish would be to see F1 now turn its back on the over-inflated egos of Bahrain's power-mongers altogether. Alas, it is unfortunate that Bernie's never seemed too concerned about a business partner's credentials. - Over to you Flavio; what would you say to all this?
The most worrying thing that I found about the whole fiasco was that I agreed with everything that a certain Max Mosley said! Hear hear to what cosicave said!
What this Alzayani bloke seems to forget is that nearly all of the teams are British based, so without a British GP, there would be no home GP for most of the teams. There's been a British GP since F1 has started, it's been at Silverstone most of those years and it fails to disappoint the fans every year. Even non British drivers say that the British GP is the one they like to win, apart from their home GP and Monaco. Who is Alzayani anyway?
Hahahaahahahaahah… I shouldn't be laughing but I just cannot help myself! Hehehe… Silver, that's as close to perfection as I've seen in a long time…
It looks like they are having to wake up to the reality that the mentality of wealth and power being able to get you everything you want doesn't quite work in a world were even the lowest classes can gain a world audience. With images and film of daily attrocities by Bahrains government being posted online earlier this year there's no way any sport, person or business with a conscience or image to maintain would go anywhere near them especially with Bahrain being one of the now growing number of directly state sponsored races.
With that sort of comment comparing Bahrain in the same breath as Silverstone - you have to wonder on the sheer audacity of some of these 'jumped-up' megalomaniacs! I'm almost speechless.....
