    Best Driver: Pierre Gasly
Worst Driver: Romain Grosjean or Brenden Hartley.
Luckiest Driver: Alonso maybe? Certainly didn't get 4th in the championship through pace.
    Unluckiest Driver: Daniel Ricciardo
Best Rookie/New Driver: Gasly hasn't completed a full season, so i'll count him. LeClerc and Sirotkin look poor.

    Best Team: Toro Rosso-Honda
    Surprise Team: Toro Rosso-Honda
Worst Team: Williams, just woeful. Everything is wrong. The car is bad and the drivers are terrible With Sauber getting points today, they may actually finish last this year
Best Overtake: Hamilton on Alonso, Hulkenberg and Ocon

    Most Surprising Result: Gasly, 4th
Least Surprising Result: Max Verstappen crashes.
    Funniest moment: "what a dickhead"
Excuse of the week: Kimi complaining about traffic. He was slow again when it counted.

Special Mention: The Injured Ferrari mechanic. Brave job those guys do.
    Best post in race thread:

Race Rating: 8/10. Not an all time classic, but tense and incident packed.

    Best Driver: Hamilton
    Worst Driver: Bottas
Luckiest Driver: Hamilton (no damage after verstappen clash)
    Unluckiest Driver: Ricciardo
Best Rookie/New Driver: Gasly - by far! What a composed drive

Best Team: Torro Rosso and Honda - massive turnaround.
    Surprise Team: as above
Worst Team: Got to be williams for pace but ferrari also for poor procedures
Best Overtake: Hamilton - even with fastest car it takes balls of steel to do that at full speed!

Most Surprising Result: Vettels tyres lasting
Least Surprising Result: Williams drivers being crap
    Funniest moment: Dickhead
Excuse of the week: Bottas' pace - not an excuse but honestly either the team gave bad orders on pace or he's just not quick enough. Reminds me of hakkinen.

Special Mention: Honda again - red bull will become the honda factory team at this rate
Best post in race thread: This one - suck it!

Race Rating: 7/10 - frenetic start and split strategies - makes for extremely tense interesting racing.

Best Driver: Pierre Gasly. On it all weekend. Looked very accomplished and stayed out of trouble at the start to bag an excellent result for TR and Honda.
Worst Driver: Romain Grosjean. Where was he this weekend?
Luckiest Driver: Alonso did very little to earn his points other than benefitting from retirements.
    Unluckiest Driver: Daniel Ricciardo
    Best Rookie/New Driver: Gasly

    Best Team: Toro Rosso-Honda
    Surprise Team: Toro Rosso-Honda
Worst Team: Williams. Will they bring back the 2017 car? The 2018 is just awful. McLaren almost in with a shout too for being well behind the Torro Rosso's despite all the gloating last year about having the best chassis but worst engine.
    Best Overtake: Hamilton's triple whammy.

Most Surprising Result: Ericsson in the points after pulling off a good rive and strategy. He didn't screw it up being the surprise......
Least Surprising Result: Max Verstappen crashes.
    Funniest moment: "what a dickhead"
Excuse of the week: Alonso seeing into the future again, and knowing McLaren would not be any good over the weekend, once they found out after Quali they weren't going to be any good...........

    Special Mention: Ferrari pit guy.
    Best post in race thread:

Race Rating: 7/10. Different strategies played out for an interesting finish.

Best Driver: Gasly - Seriously Impressive
Worst Driver: Verstappen? If he can't take blame for that accident, he's never going to learn. He's been overdriving so far this season. Grosjean was very poor too.
    Luckiest Driver:
Unluckiest Driver: Ricciardo, Kimi was pretty unlucky too.
    Best Rookie/New Driver: Gasly

    Best Team: Toro Rosso
    Surprise Team: Toro Rosso
Worst Team: Williams - Stroll was slower this weekend than in 2017
Best Overtake: To offer a different answer, Sainz on Ericsson (I think??) into T10.

    Most Surprising Result: Gasly
Least Surprising Result: Williams being dreadful
Funniest moment: Hamilton's post-race comments. Also Martin Brundle on the grid with Rory Bremner was very funny.
Excuse of the week: "I can only hear wind Lewis"...we couldn't definitely hear Hamilton moaning!

Special Mention: Magnussen, Hulk and Ericsson trounced their team-mates, and obviously hope the Ferrari mechanic makes a speedy recovery.

Best Driver: Vettel and Gasly. I rarely like to give it to the top drivers but we expect them to deliver, but Vettel was phenomenal today without a rear gunner. Gasly has genuine pace.
Worst Driver: Grosjean and Hartley for the deficit to their team mates, Stroll and Sirotkin for just being poor in a poor car.
Luckiest Driver: Lewis, kept his front wing and 3 fast cars retired making his strategy pretty easy all things considered.
    Unluckiest Driver: Ricciardo and Kimi
    Best Rookie/New Driver: Gasly

Best Team: Mercedes, played a blinder on strategy and probably had the fastest car overall.
    Surprise Team: TR, unbelievable pace
Worst Team: Williams, absolutely fukin shocking. When the average at best pay driver pulls faces - you know it’s bad!
Best Overtake: Max on Lewis, Lewis on the three, Alonso on Lewis.

    Most Surprising Result: TR
Least Surprising Result: Lewis on the podium
Funniest moment: None of note, but Max/Lewis is going to get interesting.
    Excuse of the week:

Special Mention: Alonso for a fortunate result.

Best Driver: Pierre Gasly outstanding drive for the young frenchman
Worst Driver: Sergey Sirotkin. Looking like it might be a long and unfruitful season for Williams
Luckiest Driver: Lewis Hamilton. Benefitted from no damage and retirements of both Red Bulls & Kimi
Unluckiest Driver: Daniel Ricciardo. Poor bloke struggling for any luck in races recently.
Best Rookie/New Driver: Pierre Gasly again. 4th after only 7 GP's in a car that shouldn't normally be there is phenomenal.

    Best Team: Mercedes
    Surprise Team: Toro Rosso
    Worst Team: Williams
Best Overtake: Lewis Hamilton on 3 drivers

Most Surprising Result: Marcus Ericsson getting 9th place.
Least Surprising Result: Williams at the back again.
Funniest moment: Kevin Magnussen's team radio rants about Grosjean.
Excuse of the week: We can only hear wind Lewis!

Special Mention: Marcus Ericsson to finish 9th in a Sauber was a great outcome for them.

    Luckiest Driver:
    Unluckiest Driver:Danny Ric
Best Rookie/New Driver:Gasly, probably merited DotD as well

    Best Team:Mercedes
    Surprise Team:Toro Rosso
Worst Team:Williams. over a second slower than last year is just......
Best Overtake:Hamilton on 3, or Hulk on an FI

Most Surprising Result:Ericsson in the points
Least Surprising Result:Verstappen, he's believed his own hype and is being too desparate
Funniest moment:Suzie's clothing choice on Saturday
    Excuse of the week:

Special Mention: Ericsson, I almost take back what I've said about him in the past, made the 1 stop work for Sauber.
    Best post in race thread:

Race Rating: 8.751/10 a good race with action through-out, including an attack at the front at the end.

    Best Driver: Gasly beyond compare
    Worst Driver: Sirotkin
Luckiest Driver: Hamilton. 3 other drivers probably would have finished ahead of him had they not retired
Unluckiest Driver: Ricciardo. Man he was pumped for this race.
    Best Rookie/New Driver: Gasly

Best Team: Mercedes got the best result.
    Surprise Team: Toro Rosso
    Worst Team: Williams
Best Overtake: Hamilton on Hulk, Alonso and Ocon though his car was much faster so was like a hot knife through butter

Most Surprising Result: a Honda powered car in 4th at a hot track
Least Surprising Result: Bottas having no fight
    Funniest moment: Max 'Dickhead' Verstappen
    Excuse of the week:

Special Mention: Mclaren although embarrassed this weekend are sitting pretty in the championship.
    Best post in race thread:

Bit harsh on Bottas though Hamilton was lucky to get 3rd. Kimi got bad luck and the Red Bulls broke down.

    Best Driver: Vettel / Gasly
Worst Driver: Several candidates come to mind. Verstappen, an immense natural talent, needs to become more measured – and fast. He is trying too hard, almost as if he expects success to land on his plate by divine right. He'd 80% got the overtake done. All he needed to do was finish it cleanly and get on the gas before Hamilton. And Grosjean who was just a mess all weekend.
    Unluckiest Driver: Ricciardo / Räikkönen
Best Rookie/New Driver: Gasly. Excellent all weekend. Top marks for a very nice, unassuming youngster.

Best Team: Probably Mercedes. Ferrari had the fastest car this weekend but Mercedes clever strategy might have won the day, if not for Vettel keeping a cool head. Toro Rosso also very impressive.
Surprise Team: In the positive sense, Toro Rosso. In the negative sense, Red Bull and that dire performance from Williams.
    Worst Team: Williams
Best Overtake: Hamilton's triple was a ballsy move, requiring him to drive the dusty inside of the track all the way into the braking zone. Most would have locked up or had to give at least one place back.

Most Surprising Result: McLaren's position in the the Constructors' Championship.
Least Surprising Result: Alonso finishing higher than he started.
Funniest moment: Magnussen. Strong minded but without the fluffy 'corporate speak' so obvious in one particular high profile driver. I can't help but like this guy.
Excuse of the week: Verstappen playing the victim.

Special Mention: Räikkönen and his unfortunate wheel-man – who I hope makes a speedy recovery. That was a nasty incident and it could have been worse than a broken leg.

Race Rating: 8.55/10. I found it thoroughly entertaining, so don't quite see your perspective, Bhaji !

Oh it was good. A solid 7... but not sure it will be a classic. Had Bottas have provided some serious dueling by the end it could have been 8, but alas, nah. Certainly a good race though.

    Imo o'course.

    Good race .

Yes Williams were / are worse than **** .

I have read / seen a few views on why Bottas struggled to get past Seb , so maybe not all down to him not being quick enough ?

Also remember , what would have been said if he went for it and binned it after the last race ?
