Or is there a cryptic clue?

Jordan Pickford has a bright future ahead of him. Playing a keeper at a young age is not an easy decision to make. But i thought he handled it very well today.

He might not play too many more games this season as Vito Mannone has done a fantastic job.

No mention of Pants. But why drop Pickford?

Struck me as very odd as well Comm' Many 21 year old's playing and doing well in the premier. The kid had a great game, saved at least another 3 clear goals for them. He should be the number one keeper now full stop.

He did mention Pants mate, he went on to say 'We still have Costel, for now' which i took to mean he could be on his way.

So if Pants does go, leaves Vito and Pickford. But if Vito has done a fantastic job (SA words) why play Pickford against Spurs. A knacky game.

I agree with this. Pickford surely must be the future. That starts now.

I listened to his interview on SAFSEE mate and he said that Pickford had a great game against Arsenal and played well yesterday and he has every confidence in the lad but Vito was number 1. I'm sure he'll eventually replace Vito as number 1.

Not just think he's saying it to keep pickfords feet on the ground? I don't think he's the kinda kid that would get carried away and think he's made it but..

I never saw the game yesterday due to family stuff.
Was Pickford at fault for any of the goals?
Is the step up in class a bit too much atm?

Not really, good save for 1st, 2nd maybe could have done slightly better but good shot, 3rd wicked deflection.
Got to blame Sam for this one, tinkering around when we were going reasonably ok. 3CB,s just plain not working, no much effort from Lens, Rodwell not noticeable when he came on for Catts. We need ball players badly, showed how much weare plain lacking in quality in midfield

For the 7 mins or so I watched on motd Lens attitude ****ing stinks. Should have sprinted back when he was dispossessed early doors but left the sprinting to AJ whilst he casually walked back.

Cattermole should have done better with the first on the line, it had almost no power and he tried to knee it away.

Kirchoff rapidly needs to learn to bust a gut when he gets dispossessed as well, on the half way line, casually jogged back, no effort.

Goalie made some decent saves if he can command a back line well you may have a future star on your hands.

Another goal for your left back, think he's destined to be pushed forwards when you get another LB. blistering pace after a great ball from AJ.

To be fair he looks really good, better that Vito. I personally think Pants is still our best keeper.

Lens looked really good until he got lazy and gave up. Taking Catts off is what cost us the game. 2 of their goals were very lucky, the first which Catts put into his own net and the 3rd which was a terrible deflection. The pen was by no means a stone waller either.

I thought pickfords stop for the first was immense. The last keeper I saw for us move that quickly off his line was... Errrrrrr.... I can't remember one!! It was the only reason they didn't score.

IMO he's better than Mannone. Mannone almost made a massive balls up for the offside goal. Confidence is flowing in Pickford but maybe Sam is doing the right thing.

If pants goes we need another keeper this window

What Sam says and what Sam does are very different things. This oftern leads to the press publishing different stories to eachother off the same interview. Best learn to treat Sam like the Press, use your judgement to decipher the clues from the bullshit.
