To top off a crap week our place was flooded and my programmes from the 60/70s especially have all been ruined. We have insurance but what monetary value do you put on them.I still have the memories, one of which is where we trashed Leicester 4-1 in 1970 with Shilton in goal and David Nish scored a spectacular header in his own net Both Chelsea games in the 60s,All home games 66 -74 time, and a few away games, just another disappointment but we move on. Start my collection again next August when i see City, hopefully we use this as a springboard to be in the Premier league. As i said before Pearson was i thought a person who i could respect, thank you for your time ,obviously we are not good enough for you now. We move on
Sorry for your bad news Melbourne, as you say, what price can you put on memories. Lets hope you can add a Champions league final programme to your collection in the coming years
Thanks for that Miff. I will definitely be over for that one.Apparently i have to put a value on them, most were City programme but there was a few sent for to clubs who use to in those days send you them for nothing. I was always in the programme shop down Anlaby Road. The oldest one was in tle late 40s v West Ham, Any advice anyone, please.
Most aren't worth much, but the odd rare City one can go up to £50 odd, this might give you some idea: http://www.football-programmes.net/search_results.php?team=Hull City
Sorry to hear about your problems, as you say one thing that cannot be lost are the happy memories. I went to both Chelsea games in the cup in the 60's, and have somewhere in the house, which I have seaching high a low for, programmes for both matches, hopefully one day I will come across them. Certainly the day and evening out in London was one of the best days I have ever enjoyed watching the tigers. Happy days.
It'll take you a while and I appreciate you probably can't remember all you had but there are loads on ebay and sites like OLM linked to....though I'm guessing postage may be expensive!
ruddy heck. last weeks west ham prog is already worth twice what i paid for it. must have been a sell out then.
ive 12 pre 2nd world war progs that are worth a tidy sum. but must are just for sentiment more than value. memories are all that matter. shame thought mate,
