"CHELSEA have firmly denied that owner Roman Abramovich has any controlling interest in Champions League group rivals CSKA Moscow.

UEFA are looking into CSKA's pounds 30million three-year sponsorship deal with Sibneft, the Russian oil giant in which Chelsea owner Abramovich holds the majority shareholding.

UEFA rules forbid any person having an interest in two clubs competing in the same competition. The two clubs were yesterday paired in the draw for the Champions League group stages but UEFA will not allow both to take part if regulations have been broken"

Now if my memory serves me correctly, DJ took shares in Cardiff in lieu of a cash bonus................this means that if he wants to take another managers job in the football league, he has to dispose of his shares in CCFC............I bet he didn't see that coming, the owners can buy them back at a fraction of the perceived value if they want to play hardball,,,,,,,,after all they wouldn't be much use to anyone else.

Not quite...the owners do not have full control of the club yet and I suspect Jones and Ridsdale would be prime targets for shares should that take over happen. Should Jones take on a managers job he will get the value of the shares simply because the Malaysians honour such things.

Of course he'll have "seen it coming". He'd know full well he wouldn't be able to own shares in one club while managing another, and there's no reason at all he'd have to sell them at a discount to the current owners - he can sell them to whoever he likes for however much someone will pay him for them.

Not sure they made their millions / billions being THAT honourable. They'll buy for the price they think they can get away with.

Now Sam may pay more if he thinks there is an opportunity......................
