I know this should be under the rumor thread but i'm very sure he is off to united as fergie himself has just claimed hes hopeful of a deal and all signs point towards this move. Where do you think this leaves us? I know many will blame the club but i feel in modern game player power rules and theres very little we can do to go against rvp's will.

The quote from Fergie

Why has he made this public? He also did the same with Lucas Moura.

Have you got a link to Fergie saying that he's 'hopeful of a deal' ?

I'm not doubting you, I just want to check what he said and who is reporting it <ok>

I've got a feeling that he'll go to Utd as well. If he does... lets just hope we will reinvest the fee... or at least some of it.

To be fair mate, a direct quote from Fergie saying 'we've made a bid' is a pretty strong indication of their intent.

... says the man that spent £26m - roughly €40m in 2004 - on an 18 year old Wayne Rooney <doh>

I think it would be a really bad move for Arsenal to sell to Utd.
Hopefully the club will take a strong stance on this and refuse to do it.

Fergie making all this public is not going to go down well with Wenger and the board. As Piskie said, we need to take a stance here. We can't roll over for these people.

tbh fergie stated 'i don't know what arsenal thoughts are because they're not giving anything away' implies we might just be faltering. Note it wasn't a flat rejection.

I think it will be a really bad move for RVP to remain at the club.
Last year Na$ri got booed and he didn't (not publically anyway) state his disappointment at the clubs policy/strategy, despite everything RVP did last year I think he'll get a rough ride from the fans and that will destabilise the squad (if there isn't a disconnect already).
As I posted somewhere yesterday, none of us know how the likes of Frimpong and Wilshere reacted when RVP rocked up to training but there is a danger the presence of a player who doesn't want to be there can't be good, especially when he is meant to be your leader.
Get rid to whoever is prepared to pay the right money - I don't like the idea of selling another premier lge club but better for Arsenal to get £25m from Utd than £15m from Juve...

I think the point really is that they don't know what Arsenal want to do as they are not communicating with Utd.

I hope it stays that way <ok.

Yep Im thinking this might happen too.

I'll be disgusted with the club if it does. Same old **** - lets just sell ALL our best players and stop pretending to have lofty ambitions.

United will win the league with RVP

Maybe the fans and his team mates giving him a hard time will fire him up for the Arsenal again <ok>

Don't doubt their interest but it does not mean a deal is close, even should they make a bid.

I disagree. I'd rather the club lose money than strengthen their rivals. To me it's the equivalent of not buying Santi Cazorla - sure you've saved money, but your chances of overhauling the teams above you are smaller.
