All agreed then, terrible terrible day at the office...general consensus seems to be that playing 1 up front is not working, which I totally agree with, but as we saw when Johnson came on, having 2 up front didn't really help that much. The arrogance problem is a bigger one for me...too many of our players stroll around as if they have a divine right to win as a lot of them have Premier League experience. That same arrogance makes us easier to beat, and gives other teams more inspiration to beat us.

I was watching today, and have come to the conclusion that IF, and that is a big IF, we go up this season, it could well be a repeat of our last promotion. Short lived, and with an urgent need for a lot of new players. Our current team may well be good enough for promotion, but not for the Premiership, and that way of being promoted doesn't work. We need to think LONG term...and buy players for the long term...

Just so disappointed with what I watched today, as I am sure most are.

I think wed be better off in the long term not going up, wed get rid of Redknapp and then slowly rebuild the team with more Hoilett, austin, Philips type players and less stop gaps that have to be replaced every season like Dunne, BAE, Kranjcar, AJ.

but then FFP kicks in and that will really hurt us as well so I dont really know whats best. Perhaps to get promotion and then have Redknapp retire and then get a manager who looks long term rather than the next 12 months so we dont have to buy a whole new team each summer.

Forgot the money side of it for next year...still, if we go up, spend even bigger than last time, then get relegated, would we end up even worse off. Maybe I'm just being overly negative.

I'll be happy as long as we buy players like Rhodes and not more like SWP or Zamora.

Its the constant signing of old players that leaves us in this position. We have 15 players out of contract this summer so hopefully it will be the last big change.

We were much better when o'neil went off and AJ came on

Otherwise 2 **** teams played **** football and one of them won and it wasnt us

We deserved nothing and got nothing

Too negative too slow too 'uncreative' if such a word exists

At Donny station now, off for a pint

The steak and ale pie was naturally, very good

The idea of the money being spent on decent young players is appealing. I also wonder how long Harry will stay if we don't go up...so could be change all round.

Yeah but do you think we will start with 2 up front? I think he will see it as us drawing with one up front and only losing once we put a second forward on.

Either you look at it like that, or on the flip side, we might have been 3-0 up against a side of their league position if we had a bit more ambition from the start.

Don't worry about what we are going to do/not do in the Premiership next year.

Concentrate on this year and get there first.

Agree we need to concentrate on this year, but then also need to plan for the future, which might mean changing plans for this year. Waiting until we are promoted to start thinking about next year is too late.

Yeah, to me the formation doesn't really matter if the manager is so negative. We don't even get 3 chances a game, never mind 3 goals.

As I said before, we were lucky we had that record breaking clean sheet record and it cant go on, trouble is now we are conceding, we still can't score more than a goal per game.

for me there is nothing wrong with 4 5 1 but our midfielders need to start creating and scoring…otherwise it is simply too negative. we need phillips and kranky to really start pitching in. today though we were rubbish from back to front and were definitely far too complacent.

Not as terrible as if Burnley had won. Leicester's weekend and False Hoops snapping at heels.

I agree 4-5-1 or 4-4-2 won't necessary make a real difference unless we have some creativity from midfield. Possession football with no cutting edge means we're still hoping to rely on our defence not conceding, any team who scores more than once against us is virtually guaranteed 3 points.

I said before that all our creative players Hoilett, Phillips, Kranky have lacked match fitness throughout the season due to injuries & none have yet to have a string of consistent games.

    Sums it up perfectly.

I agree with Dave's point about arrogance too. We just have to do more than turn up and expect teams to roll over in front of our undoubted talent.

Still there's more to life than winning

    On the upside -

I had 2 pints of Bernard Unfiltered at the Tap
Best away pie of the season so far
    Goid craic with my mate
I've fulfilled my annual quota of visits to Doncaster
My train ticket was only £6 return

Of course everything football related was rubbish but then after 40 odd years on following the rangers its hardly unexpected

Chin up. I've just opened a decent Valpolicella
