Claudio Ranieri has brought some of his own staff in. Andrea Azzalin has joined as a fitness coach while Paolo Benetti and Giorgio Pellizzaro have joined as coaches Steve Walsh, Craig Shakespeare, Kevin Phillips and Mike Stowell have all been retained along with the sport science staff It seems the only person to have left is Nigel Pearson
Yeah pretty much. Shakey is best mates with NP and have been together since they was at West Brom so I suspect he will go but the rest could stay. Steve Walsh already knew Ranieri from Chelsea and Kevin Phillips I suspect will stay aslong as he is happy here. When NP left last time he tried to take Chris Powell with him to Hull but Powell stayed here And Mike Stowell was appointed by Craig Levein and hasnt left since
To a certain extent perhaps, but will NP get a club bigger and better placed than us, doubtful. I'm confident that they will remain as long as they are wanted which is excellent news all round.
So this looks like an expansion to the setup, which is nice, also will give us some stability if Shakey/Walsh/Fitness team follow Nigel, we won't be starting again from stage 1. Will be interesting to see what actually happens when he does get a new job.
Good points .... of course it is a possibility that NP's backroom staff will follow him ... but by no means a foregone conclusion ... they are adults and will take into account their own prospects and circumstances ... we are in the process of evolution and they might just want to continue being a part of that ... survive another season and the enormous sums of money that will generate will not just be being shared amongst the players ...
