News that Darryl Flahavan has signed for Bournemouth, having been released by Pompey, beggars the question: What happens if Jamie Ashdown is injured? Is one of the 'mystery three' a goalkeeper? Is there a signing in the pipeline? Am I getting paranoid?
Someone mentioned Marcus Hahneman last week - dont know if there is any substance in that rumour though? (and before anyone makes a "sunstance" joke! - I have pre-empted it here for you!)
Depending on how much money we have to spend because none of us really know, i think that cotterill will either get a keeper in on a free transfer or loan a decent young keeper from a premier league team to act as competition rather than take a chunk out of the transfer budget, which is obviously needed in other areas. Thats just my opinion though and as i said i don't know how much there is to spend. Although saying that, i have read in a few places that Chris Kirkland could be available for less than a million, he could be worth a shout, he surely would be number 1 though...
But, would Chris Kirkland come to Fratton Park for £10,000 p.w. ? There was some talk about Joe Murphy from Scunthorpe being available on a free.
PompeyLapras - If we got Kirkland there is every chance you would get a game. Never known a keeper to get injured as often as Kirkland.
